Go A's! The game starts at 1:30 PST (3:30 CST...) due to the rain out in New York and MLB/FOX being smart enough to not have both games at the same time in the day. Which is good, because I really don't care about the other game and have plans tonight.

Chan Ho Park had a few good outings in Petco this year against bad offenses (the Cubs included) and I certainly don't want him.

Sounds good to me. His former teams aren't doing well...except the Tigers... Angels, Dodgers, Yankees...all = out. I only hope the same holds true for the Tigers and Cardinals.

i would argue that a salary floor would be more effective, but neither would be particularly good (or bad) for baseball.

how much of the good minor league system is on him, and how much of it is on the people that scout/draft for him?

Pudge is a shell of his former self. He posted a 290 OBP last year and only improved slightly this year. I'll take Barrett over Pudge any day of the week offensively, which is where we have problems. Maggs. I guess you could make an argument for him, but he wasn't a very good investment regardless. Having the guts to do something and having that be the right move are far different things. Dombrowski -- in my eyes at least -- has been below average in his tenure as GM of the Tigers. Would I mind him being president? Probably not, but he's not a good GM choice in my opinion.

I haven't seen anything pointing to him being among the best. He's made several baffling moves. His draft record is decent -- but how much of that is on him?

it's pretty much speed and defense for Beane right now. He doesn't like "productive outs" because it's still an out.

I didn't like Bochy for a while, but he's a considerably better option than anyone else that's available and is an apparent candidate. -
