  1. With Pat Foley back! Wish we had Rick Jeanerette though. really? rick jeanerette is my least favorite announcer in sports. his voice is so grating i can't understand how anyone can tolerate him, and on top of that he's not a very good announcer. there's being a homer, there's being hawk harrellson, and then there's being jeanerette. i will admit he says a funny line from time to time, but it's usually only funny because of how ridiculous it is. on havlat: he's considered injury prone, not really soft. i don't remember him having a reputation as being unwilling to battle for points/goals or anything like that, but he just gets hurt when he does it. having trouble thinking of a really soft player off the top of my head...maybe marian gaborik? even that doesn't seem right...he's just made of glass.
  2. yes. this was my first thought upon watching the video, actually. good stuff.
  3. kind of like when we could've been out of first place by the weekend before the all-star break but instead were 5.5 up on St. Louis and 6 up on the Crew.
  4. Yeah, he did it to himself, but that doesn't make addiction something he could just shake off. It's a disease. "Nobody says, "foresooth Mitch, you have lupus!" Comparing drug addiction to something like lupus is pretty ridiculous to me. Also, this "it's a disease, they cant help it" argument has always seemed like an excuse to me. Trust me, I've known drug addicts before so I understand how difficult and serious drug addiction is, but ultimately a person has the ability to stop doing drugs if they want it bad enough. A person with lupus can't make it go away, it's not possible. there's been an epidemic of people whiffing on hedberg jokes lately Who tried to make a Hedberg joke? seriously? come on, he even used the name "mitch" in his post.
  5. I'm more worried about Bay being a Cardinal for the future. This year, I'd love for them to go crazy on rentals and lose one of Anderson or Rasmus, but I don't like them improving their team long-term. i would really rather they hang on to anderson and not trade him while he still has value.
  6. Geo had to come out cause there are 3 catchers on the team. Kosuke came out cause he's the worst OF on the team. Albert might play the whole game. He will, otherwise the NL would lose the DH. Nah, they could just replace him with another hitter. The only way you lose the DH is by moving Pujols to the field. Personally, I'd keep Pujols in the whole game as well. Are you sure? I'm pretty sure the DH has to remain the same player or it is lost. no. the DH just can't be switched into the field or the DH is lost. you can pinch hit for the DH and keep it though.
  7. probably because it's hard to justify wasting both a bench player and a pitcher in extras.
  8. FYI, mlb.tv is running an all-star week special that starts tomorrow for 2.95.
  9. Minor strain in his right shoulder, nothing wrong with his labrum.
  10. this is my issue with it. i don't think the bunt was intrinsically a bad idea but given the context of the night i thought it was an awful one. i was cursing about the play as soon as i heard pat say "bunt."
  11. well that was good timing. i just flipped on the radio broadcast and his shot leaves the yard. awesome.
  12. so wait did me dropping fields and adding utley in like the 2nd week of the year never get counted or what? because that still says i have used zero transactions.
  13. Pat Hughes did the same thing, so I guess he sucks too right?
