  1. First major league start of his career, with little notice, against the team with the best record in baseball, he pitches a shutout through 4 innings, and that's a BAD start? What planet are you from? he gave up a run in the first. it wasn't a terrible start, but it wasn't really a good one. he showed some good things though and i'm glad he's sticking in the rotation.
  2. Malkin reminds me of a healthy Forsberg, and a healthy Forsberg was the best player in the NHL for a 10 year period. that, and he does some things better than Forsberg did.
  3. the only thing i remember about norton is how obnoxious hawk sounds when he says his name. "Greg NAWTON grounds out to short."
  4. this is the best hockey game i've seen in a long, long time. just insanity.
  5. I have a lot of trouble seeing someone beat the Pens. I think Philly will make for a great series, probably long (I would be stunned if it lasts less than 6 games, and expect 7), but man the Penguins are good. Watching them churn on the PP is quite a sight.
  6. i don't even know why you would chance that with someone like gallardo (or anyone for that matter, but it's even more completely insane with a kid that's part of the future of your team).
  7. sean avery out for the playoffs with a lacerated spleen.
  8. hatcher isn't a good dman any more.
  9. it was a legit penalty but that 2nd goal was a joke. still, caps had plenty of chances and couldn't finish.
  10. Like lilly has to worry about sean gallagher, he knows he plays for the cubs... :banghead: Uhm....what? Sean Gallagher will never pitch in the cubs starting rotation, no matter how well he plays because clearly if there's one thing the Cubs do, it's underuse their young pitchers.
  11. GAME SEVEN! that was a pitiful effort the last half of that game from the flyers. ovechkin finally broke through too. Going to be a very, very entertaining game tomorrow night. I can't wait.
  12. this is the best single day for sports (personally) that i can remember. cubs/mets in HD, bruins/habs game 7, and caps/flyers game 6. all starting at the same time. thank god for a dvr box.
  13. holy crap the bruins/canadiens 3rd period was INSANE. can't believe the bruins forced a game 7...wow.
  14. No, please offer more predictions. That way I know if I want to win some money, to just go the other way. okay let's see...i appear to be a jinx...so...flyers win game 6?
  15. i made this transaction a week ago, still not updated :(
  16. Capitals live to fight another day...I have been wrong about pretty much everything in this series so far, so no more predictions from me.
  17. http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20080419/capt.4c41410877f0432099e5ad8a0aaa7360.rangers_devils_hockey_njbk114.jpg so funny. after the game sean avery called marty brodeur "fatso" which is hilarious in a bizarre, 1st grade way. I think the Predators are done now...for a while i thought they were gonna pull off the upset but i have trouble seeing them winning two in a row again, including a game 7 on the road. come on stars, finish off the ducks already. ALSO: if anyone is interested, i'm trying to get a sim league started using Eastside Hockey Manger. if you're interested, read all about it here: Info on the league need a few more people before we can get moving, so if you're interested just sign up. still roughly 20 spots available.
  18. Great game...felt like a Flyers win the whole time to me though. i think that kinda kills the series, game 5 will be the Caps last (as much as I don't want that to be true it's just how i feel).
  19. refs definitely on the flyers side tonight, making up for some lost time i guess. lucky lucky kill for the caps at the end though, couldn't clear the damn puck.
  20. moderately above average. he's not a burner but he has decent speed.
  21. i don't see how you can say this with a straight face. he's not a selke winner but he's a solid defensive forward. he could kill penalties effectively if need be. Richards is really good, but i wouldn't put him with the elite in the game yet. i'd say he's on the second tier with guys like Marleau or Koivu and so on. That's not a knock on him...but the big thing for me is he has to prove this is really him. Is this a career year or what we can really expect (offensively, defensively i can't see him regressing unless he gets hurt or something).
  22. Because Z was running? and any runner would have hustled to try and beat the double play. Now we're catching on! So hustling does help a team win. but what's your point? there is not one player in the game that wouldn't try to leg that out unless there was something else going on (serious leg injury or something that would physically keep them from doing so).
  23. Except hit home runs and play average defense. Murton knows he needs to do this to play everyday in the bigs. Unfortunately he just can't. Wow, you're just knocking them out of the park left and right today. What do you think is the real reason Murton isn't starting or in the bigs? Does Jim Hendry not like red heads? Murton isn't a flawless player without holes in his game, but neither is Eric Patterson by any means. Each has their own individual strengths and contributions they can bring to the team. The difference is that Hendry doesn't value Murton's strengths (OBP, Quality At Bats), but values Eric Patterson's (Speed, Left Handed). Granted. But Patterson will not be playing everyday. Fontenot will. If Murton is brought up, he would most likely be playing everyday. That exposes him more. Then the question is why in the world would anyone want Fontenot playing everyday over Murton playing every day. Because Fontenot doesn't have to play everyday. Johnson can play left and DeRosa can play 2B. then why did you just say fontenot will be playing everyday?
  24. whew, at least I wasnt the only one to notice the mispellings that existed on top of the dreadful grammar. props to the wolfman ? I'm not participating in this thread. all you people look the same anyway. AHAHAHA! =D>
  25. that puck didn't take a funny hop and jeff finger is an idiot.
