  1. Either LA team has prospects to hand 3b over to. Only reason they were in on ARod and are in on Miggy is because those guys are super (duper) stars. They'd be [expletive] to block them for Rolen. the dodgers are [expletive] though. i could see them doing this.
  2. yeah, at absolute worst they have to at least play every other team. maybe not travel to every arena, but at least play every team. and boston can't play their last west coast game in october/early november. that's incredibly dumb. another third period comeback for the kings. only two goals this time, and they lost in a shootout. oh well, at least they earned a point when they probably didn't deserve one.
  3. yeah the kings week long break pissed me off. i don't mind the "divisional month" thing though, but the heavy-divisional schedule needs to go. cut it down to 6 a year and get all of the teams to play in every arena. and i just prefer a newer brand of hockey, that's all, i guess.
  4. i've watched a couple of the 1986 games and thought they were pretty rough to watch. the game today isn't perfect but i like it more than what i saw on the NHL Network. i think the dip in scoring is temporary, as well.
  5. -i hate nick boynton. -the sharks are finally coming together (thornton had 2 goals tonight and they won 5-0) -i'm still impressed with the flyers -scottie upshall is better than i thought he would be, and it's making one of my fantasy teams happy.
  6. =D> That line-up = about 70 wins. I think that's more than 70 wins...it would probably be a winning season, though probably not playoff caliber. there is no way that's a winning taem. that team would be awfully lucky to win 75. or they would just be awful.
  7. Where's the other thread about Jimmy Rollins winning the Silver Slugger? probably the one titled "Silver Slugger Awards" Doesn't mention Jimmy Rollins once. Just let the discussion go here. hanley ramirez was actually mentioned but no one cared enough to discuss it then.

  9. now it says i haven't submitted my picks. edit: now it's working.
  10. toews has a rocket. this is my first time watching the hawks this year and he is really impressive.
  11. and looking pretty good in the process. the PP looks incredible. i was shocked they didn't score on their first PP opp. in the second period. khabi looks great.
  12. i'm torn. i want to watch hawks/wings but avs/wild is a great matchup too.
  13. EPIC finish to the Kings game. Kings down 4-0 with 9 minutes left, get a PP. Dustin Brown scores with a little over 7 minutes left to spark a 5 goal rally in 5:07. Modano blasts in a PP goal with a minute left, Kopitar scores to win in it OT. WOW. I haven't been that excited watching Kings hockey in a long time. Nor have I been that excited about my team in a long time. Habs/Sens was the best game I've seen this year until the Kings game just now. Rangers/Leafs was also a great game (my boy Avery with the Gordie Howe hat trick).
  14. he didn't say all-star by 2010, he said he'd be in the majors by 2010 and will be an all-star at some point.
  15. also Ismael Valdez, but I couldn't fit it in the topic title. Link
  16. except for this year, he's been productive when healthy. he's a year removed from an 871 OPS season from center. it's SLG heavy but production is production and he'd be a solid upgrade in center if he managed to stay healthy. it probably wouldn't take too much to get him. it's worth the risk if you have a good backup plan in case he falters (Jones, Pie).
  17. really that's it for bieksa? i thought i read that he tore his achilles tendon pretty badly. it was pretty bizarre watching him crawl on the ice last night. i only saw the salo injury live. seeing blood spurt onto the ice like it did with him is never good.
  18. without putting much thought into it: Santana.
  19. i agree with this.
  20. proctor is just going to cut his arm off this time and save joe the trouble.
  21. Why because almost all of them are on Sunday? because they're two entertaining teams playing entertaining hockey. the game yesterday wasn't as good (though i missed the first period...stupid computer clock), but they should provide high quality entertainment. playing in the afternoon on sundays is alright too.
  22. O'Sullivan snapped out of his season long offensive slump (he's been solid really, just snake bitten offensively) with 2 goals in the Kings 4th straight win last night. Labarbera is on fire. i might make it a point to go out of my way and watch avs/wild games the rest of the year.
