    getting zambrano out for the best reliever was the correct move. z was visibly upset with the umpire and himself after the start of the inning, especially by the last batter.

    Based on the way Ward has been playing lately, the Pirates did us a favor. yeah that 1225 OPS over the last 7 days sucks. or that 1117 OPS over the last 2 weeks. or maybe that 1056 OPS in the last month. what a terrible baseball player. dammit pat got my hopes up.

    brewers game gets PPD and they win the makeup, cubs lose by one after an 8 run rally in the 9th. so, cubs.

    unfortunately i can't. the earliest other than the time i have is 2 in the afternoon (4 central). after that the only selection is for 10 central. if i want to wake up really early i could do it a week later at 9 central (9/23).

    he's blowing 4 runs leads even when he doesn't blow 4 run leads! he sucks more than he actually sucks!

    the tigers last year with Zumaya and an even crappier closer in Todd Jones. you know, the team that won the AL.

    it could have just been an off night. pitchers have them. and seriously, he looked fine last night anyway. his slider to saenz was as good a pitch as he's thrown all year. his control was off, but i doubt it's because he's injured.

    Marquis isn't pitching after a loss, but he's not due for a true stinker either. 5 IP, 3 ER. will feel like he should've given up more.

    baseballcube is still the place to go for pitchers imo. i like that they list rates so i don't have to calculate them in my head.

    clint malarchuk was the one who took the skate blade to the throat. i remember being mesmerized by Willis McGahee's injury when that happened.

    I don't need to look too far. Jake Peavy. mark buehrle's 2006 brad penny's 2006 andy ashby's 1997 javier vazquez's 2004-2006 kevin brown's 1991 as for the reason? there really isn't one. zambrano is giving up more home runs and hits this year, but he didn't give up any home runs yesterday. he's walking fewer guys than last year. he still has 4-5 starts to get his season back under control, and i'll say there's a fairly good chance that he does put it together.
