This is something like the 8 millionth time in 8 million and one years that the Cubs have been pretty much garbage to some degree with RISP. I seriously doubt there's any cosmic explanation for that, but I would say that I'm at the point of dismissing out of hand any insinuations that 'things should turn around' in that department by now. -
Washington @ MSU is also going to Peacock in week 3, the same week NBC proper put Syracuse @ Purdue in primetime. It's like they're trolling people.

Those numbers are all great and I don't remotely trust that the team is good enough to keep them going long enough for their close-game luck (or failures, depending on the mood I'm in on a given day) to normalize. All they mean to me is the team has wasted probably the best baseball they'll play this season on a 20-26 record.
