  2. The only reason I knew that was because he played in the two Cubs/Marlins games I went to. It will not surprise you to learn he was completely hopeless at the plate each time he batted.
  3. Rough year to put up those numbers when someone else is chasing the Triple Crown Not just the Triple Crown, but the non-steroid (as far as we know) home run record too.
  4. A few games bounced around because of Hurricane Ian. SC State @ S Carolina now Thursday night, E Washington @ Florida now Sunday afternoon and E Carolina @ S Florida now at Florida Atlantic's field and kicking off at 2:30 instead of 7.
  5. I won a league last year and this year I've already dropped David Njoku after 2 weeks of essentially being ignored only to see him make 9 catches this week and benched Devonta Smith for the same reason only to see him go berserk today. Guess I used up my good fortune.

  7. Yeah, that was absolutely a killer. I’m seriously not trying to take anything away from the Aggies, but Arkansas should have won that game. Then there were those miraculous 3rd down conversions in the 4th quarter with Max Johnson throwing passes up for grabs off his back foot. I hate this game, every year, even when the Hogs win. ATM postgame win expectancy was 32 percent, FWIW, so you're not wrong. Basically any time a team wins a close game in which they had a 99-yard fumble return TD, that's an escape job.
  8. Good for him. He'd have passed Bonds by now if he'd never left St. Louis and no one will ever be able to tell me different.

    NFL Week 2

Meanwhile Carolina finds a way to lose another game. I was so fired up about Matt Rhule when he was hired but he is a bad NFL coach. Carolina is now an incomprehensible 1-25 under him when they allow 17 or more points. The owner ordering panic trades for any scrap-heap QB that comes available every year isn't helping.

    NFL Week 2

With full acknowledgment that Tom Brady is the undisputed laughable-if-you-even-argue-it GOAT, it's very frustrating that when he does suck, either his team's elite defense or ridiculous penalties on the opposing defense or both bail him out more often than not.

  12. In Snood-approved news, Kansas is smacking around Houston, which went 12-2 last season, on the road. They might seriously be good.
  13. The ND one nearly had a crazy finish. Two different Cal players had a chance to come down with their Hail Mary. I definitely did not need to be reminded. Bat it backwards, fellas!
  14. I got lucky enough to catch this live. What a freaking finish.

    NFL Week 2

I adore the wording of that tweet. Never change, NYC media.
  16. Why can't we ever do this when it's STL's playoff positioning at stake?
  17. Amazon Prime is it unless you get the local stations from one of the two cities involved. The Bears TNF game will be on a Chicago station.
  18. I mentioned it in the CFB thread but Cal +10.5 at Notre Dame is ridiculous because ND is literally good at nothing right now. Maybe Cal just really really sucks (they did just beat UNLV by 6) but they'd have to in order to fail to cover that.
  19. Cal opened as a 12-point underdog in South Bend and it's already been bet down to 10.5. I'm not a gambler, but as ND is going to be down to its 2nd-string QB (starter rumored to have broken his collarbone) on an offense that was a [expletive] train wreck to begin with, that seems like an opportunity.

  21. The Sun Belt should get a CFP bid. I'm sort of kidding. Sort of.
  22. SEC coming in clutch with a roughing the passer call on 3rd down that every CFB writer on Twitter says was ridiculous.
  23. Oklahoma State 2021 (Gundy said so) UConn 2009 South Florida 2011 Boston College 1993 Northwestern 1995 Air Force 1996 Navy 2007 Duke 2016 Tulsa 2010 Louisville 2014 Marshall Just an off the top of my head selection of some of the biggest wins (or damn close) in program history that 30 years of watching this horsefeathering team has treated me to. I can't wait to have to fire Freeman in two years because he sucks ass and then everyone gets to do the "Notre Dame is racist" dance again.
  24. The Sun Belt must be really horsefeathering good at football
  25. If not already answered, that was pushed to winter meetings or possibly ST for a vote. Unfortunately I think I've seen several snippets over the past couple years about players liking it, and I doubt the owners are going to step in to save us from that.
