Oh, I don't think that's a valid reason for putting him there. Just saying that since he is there, it's a nice thing to have. If I knew for certain that Fontenot was the real deal, I'd put him there. Since I don't, Soriano might be the best option we've got.

Where'd you find Len and Bob's? Archived on MLB.TV. Here is the main page. You shouldn't need a subscription to view it now. That is pretty sweet. I went back and watched the 9th inning of that Colorado game from Monday too. Are those archived games always free? It doesn't sound like it.

Fixed. Look, I really like The Riot. I wish he were the fantastic, .400-OBP type guy you seem to think he is. He's one of the guys I like most on this team, and that's not something I say much about a person having a season as bad as he is. But he really is not that great. He shouldn't be playing everyday and he definitely shouldn't be leading off.

The slump is because Ryan is not a particularly great baseball player. I was as excited about him in April and May as anyone but he's come back to earth. If anyone was going to lead off, I'd have DLee do it, but I'm perfectly fine with the Fonz there.

He's most certainly not ok with it, but if it comes down to keeping him as the 24th man (I'd have Izturis as the 25th) or accepting a deal like the one we almost made, I'll keep him around.

Theriot is a prototypical leadoff hitter, and Alfonso leading off is a waste of his talent. Theriot's OBP is .315, he is not a prototypical leadoff hitter. The quest for a prototypical leadoff hitter is how we ended up shipping 3 good prospects for crappy Juan Pierre. I like Soriano there. If we had a guy like Youkilis from Boston or something I might feel differently, but Soriano gets on base at a decent clip and is doing a good job this year, so I want him to stay there.

I thought it was kind of dumb at first, but it's nice being able to have a power threat up if we get anyone on base at the bottom of the order. And if you think about it, our leadoff position would be in constant flux without him there - we'd probably have had Theriot leading off for a while, and probably Fontenot now, and who knows in between. With Soriano there, you don't have to worry about it.

If so that's a wonderful thing I have been missing for a while. You can actually watch the "big" highlights for free. So Ramirez goes 3 for 5 should include the game winner. You have to subscribe to hear pat and ron I think (sometimes they actually include an "audio highlight" too). . Oh, I know that, do it all the time. But if MLB.TV lets you watch their archives, that's pretty sweet.

It's a shame I have to dislike him for sucking, because he doesn't seem like a bad guy, just caught in a bad situation.

Froemming ended all hope with that strike 2 call. Seriously, I think he is the single worst ump in the majors, Bucknor, Hernandez, West and Boyd included.
