    that's interesting that a Rangers announcer is talking about winning... anything at all Lewin might hold a bit of a grudge against the Cubs considering his short time as Cubs announcer was rather tumultous. :?:

    If he appeals is he guaranteed to have a max of five games. I don't recall any instance in which an appeal upped the suspension.

    I have nothing to add except to say that I'm loving this. There was some Bulls talk after Big Ben last year but it has been a while since so much attention was being paid to the West Side of Chicago.

    I've posted on this site drunk before, but my life isn't interesting enough to drunkenly rant about. No surprise I'm getting killed - can't compete with hilarity.

    This is the first game Sammy has ever played against the Cubs. His pre-Cubs career was all-AL in the pre-interleague days and Baltimore did not play us in 2005. Warrants mentioning. Here's hoping Sammy hits 600 in this series, and hits it in a game the Cubs win handily.

    For the person asking about the Pau deal, all rumors said that Jerry West's asking price started at Deng and Gordon. And Luol by himself put up comparable statistics to Gasol last year. That deal would've been an absolute rip off and a stupid idea.

    I believe he then hit in 24 in a row to make it 80 out of 81 games in which he got a hit.

    I don't see Ortiz or Ramirez or A-Rod or Pujols or Bonds or anybody else get plunked because of admiring home runs. I've seen highlights of the four of them (and any manner of others) absolutely preening after home run swings, no better than Soriano. I don't know why it only seems to piss opponents off when our players do it.

    I'm more concerned with Perry v. Peavy. If Perry gets 3 games, Peavy needs to be suspended about 15, because Perry by all accounts did absolutely nothing wrong. I was expecting about 5 for Lee. I can live with that as long as he serves after Aramis is back. No matter what happens, if a brawl happens, the Cubs are getting the worse of the suspensions. That's the one constant.

    For the record, this marks the 4th year in a row that an NL Central team has jumped out to a ridiculously large lead. At least it's not the Cardinals this time I guess.
