  1. He should be in the Hall even if it's proven he cheated. The Hall of Fame is about the game's history, not about keeping out anyone that cheated/gambled/was a bad person. He should be in, and there should be a large steroids-related area that encompasses most of the Barryness in there. But Bud won't, of course, do this.
  2. Interestingly, no one's IM'ed me from here in a long time - to my knowledge, Aramis Fan is the only one to do so.
  3. We'll just pretend that's what they're paying Theriot to actually be somewhat useful at SS.
  4. I think this is a great deal. One stipulation: The returning PTBNL must be alive.
  5. :D!!! If the PTBNL has a pulse, this is a great deal.
  6. .488 OPS vs Morris for Kendall. Great. Is it too late to start Koyie again?
  7. Brewers lost, Cubs back within 3.5. :)
  8. Wow, I'd totally forgotten about this league. Yeah, I'm definitely back in.
  9. LOL at the thought of Soriano12 running the world
  10. I meant base-stealing wise, I know Brock was not even close to the player Rickey was.
  11. The syringe is missing from that shirt Barry's wearing :D
  12. Maybe we learned our lesson from Barrett missing 14 games or whatever it was last year.
  13. This is off topic, but Brock sucked horribly with the Cubs, and the fact that he became an early version of Rickey Henderson after he left was bad luck, not a terrible deal.
  14. The decision to give Rami the day off had already been made prior to yesterday's game. It's not like there's some rule that says you have to stick by such decisions. You have to adapt to what else is going on. I agree 100%. Screw the future health of our all star third baseman. Todays game will decide the penant. Or you could wait 1-2 days so Floyd gets back and we're no longer facing one of the best starters in the NL. Floyd is back, he's in RF today.
  15. For a forfeit lineup, that's not too terrible. Should be enough to win against the Bonds-less Giants anyway.
  16. you could also say if Marshall didn't walk the lead off guy and give up a hit, it never would have gotten to Kendall. But I know better to argue when a player already has his grave dug for him before he comes over. I'd wager that catchers catch routine foul pop-ups more than pitchers allow the leadoff batter of the inning to reach. But whatever.
  17. You throw strikes to Barry and then walk two crappy hitters in a row. Just amazing.
  18. I haven't been following the game thread until now, but if people are laying that on Kendall, they're being simply ridiculous. short hop on a throw from Soriano. Yea its stupid of us to expect a major league catcher to come up with a short hop. If Soto had done it, not one word would have been uttered. Riiiight, and you know this how? Hey, I'm not a fan of the Kendall acquisition at all, but I've been around NSBB enough to know what I said was true. There are arbitrary favorites (like Dubois when he first came up) that get alot of slack. That's all I'm saying. I take issue with the term "arbitrary". We as a board tend to forgive mistakes by our own prospects more than those the team acquires elsewhere, especially those whose acquisitions we didn't like. I can't imagine other teams' fans are much different.
  19. It was close to the corner, but probably not a strike. Kendall didn't do a good job selling it but I think that's because Marshall missed his spot.
  20. Pagan does all the little things that don't show up in the boxscore. He's a gamer. I don't know if you're being serious or making fun of traditional baseball thought, but I agree. He's a valuable member of a 25 man roster, just not as a starter. Cheapseats is sarcastic until further notice apparently.
  21. That may have once been the case. However, currently there's a deadline for early entries who haven't hired an agent to go back to college. I believe it's a couple of weeks before the draft.
  22. Not yet, though we don't know for sure. It's looking like he will be. How 'bout the 40-man situation, that needs to be changed too. No, it doesn't. Bowen left a spot open on the 40-man, which Kendall took.
  23. Brian's nickname. You think we may be getting carried away with the "favorite moment" polls?
