    Yeah, I'm putting this one on Vance. Both the Texas and the Houston series were absolute failures. Don't forget the Florida series. Vance has been there for possibly the worst three series of the season.

    Soriano and Ramirez. This is almost as bad as the 2005 injury bug, although nothing can ever top the 2004 injury bug. Might as well put Aramis on the DL now and put EPatt at 2nd, DeRosa at 3rd. We know that's where Ramirez will end up anyway.

    If Cliff starts anymore I'll break something. Might as well toss the kids out there in the outfield the way Cliff is playing.

    I really hope we didn't bring up E-Patt to rot on the bench. Put him at 2nd and DeRosa at 3rd when Aramis makes his inevitable trip to the disabled list.

    Repeating the question, how the hell are we one game out of first place? Maybe we can make it .5? Nah.

    I think this too, but of the choices I'll say 61 and 62.

    By the look of our offense, Soriano's hurts a lot. He is one of our only power threats. And even that is just a threat, based on his complete lack of bombs this year. It's a sign of our team power patheticness that this statement can make sense even when Fonzie is leading the team in homers.

    Cliff Floyd wasn't even running in RF tonight. Time for a Murton/Pie/Jones outfield. Seriously, I was incensed on that triple watching him just trudge along as it flew a few feet over his head where anyone who had the use of their legs could make the play.

    Damn it. This is not what I needed. Pie needs to come up and play CF everyday, or at least against RHPs. Floyd needs to be used less and Murton more. And it probably also means more Fontenot because DeRosa will play more outfield leaving a spot at 2B. This won't kill us, but it sure as hell doesn't make it any easier.

    Hell, I'M getting fed up with it. After all the goodwill generated by his more or less classy response to falling in the draft and the fact that he's on his hometown team, he's pissing it all away with this ridiculous holdout. Go out there, play, and get your big payday with the next contract, Brady.

    A kid in my high school government class who was also named Guthrie claimed to be his nephew. I couldn't decide whether to pity or jeer him after the 2003 playoffs.

    Geez, we've had a lot of crappy losses this year. My gut wants me to vote for the 1-0 SD game because it was such a piece of horsecrap, but also wants me to vote for the Lilly/Renteria game for the same reason.

    Dempster was all kinds of crap in that 9th, but it's worth pointing out that he got 3 outs before that happened. The ump just screwed him out of the 1st one.
