  1. Crud, second ball today that's probably out of here on a regular day
  2. They're not allowed to consult anyone, the ump can disallow a challenge if he thinks there was help
  3. I'd guess about an inch off the plate. It probably fell just shy of the JD "egregious" standard but absolutely should've been challenged
  4. I have no idea why our hitters are so reticent to challenge close high leverage pitches. Maybe every fan base feels like that but we've seen way too much of it
  5. We have both of them, I don't believe we've even tried one since the first inning
  6. Come on Nico, you have to challenge that horsefeathers
  7. I think Grisham deked knowing he would catch it and thinking Nico would think he was deking, which if so is horsefeathers brilliant. Luckily the throw was bad enough to avoid the DP
  8. Good lord what a beautiful job by PCA there, capped off with a challenge to get the walk
  9. Looking ahead, apparently we're going to see Skubal during the LA series. Should be interesting
  10. Which is exactly what the Cubs acquired him to be. I think most anyone paying attention expected more or less what Peterson has given the Cubs, but still nice to see.
  11. The owners have a history of stuff like this. If you told me there was some informal, not on paper (plausible deniability!) agreement between the owners to collectively take a dive on payroll and player acquisition so the Dodgers could go nuts and try to swing public support further behind a salary cap, I would absolutely believe it.
  12. If we can't win I really want a Brewers vs Rays World Series so fans at least have to do the "well that just happened one time" horsefeathers while arguing small market teams can't compete
  13. Well, the "good" news is if Milwaukee gets the best record (they currently have it) and the Cubs stay in WC1 they couldn't play LA in the LDS .
  14. Salty that everyone but him seems to be having fun bashing these guys into oblivion
  15. There was a graphic last night that said PCA has 5.3 WAR since 5/30 and second place among position players was 2.9. Close to double as good as any other position player over a 2-month stretch. That's obscene.
  16. Basically living up to the reason we brought him in - a guy who isn't good but our defense can make look good, who we acquired for peanuts
  17. There is absolutely no acceptable reason Jameson Taillon is on this roster. Anyone from Iowa can come up and give up home runs at a MLB record rate.
  18. That was an "I'm the best horsefeathers player in this game" at bat by PCA. Holy hell he's great.
  19. This is gonna be a really frustrating missed chance
  20. I think if the division race was closer and getting Skubal potentially made the difference in getting a bye, it'd be a real question. But since Milwaukee insists on pulling this crap every year, Jed isn't going that big when he's only looking at one guaranteed postseason start for him.
  21. Strikes me as very weird that Roberts is declaring the MVP race over in July when his attention should be focused on his less than 100% superstar player
  22. I was at this same game and a friend of mine also sat, as he has for a long time. Either or both of us would have had some words for anyone acting like that ass clown did.
  23. That was a fun one to be in the park for. Even if it was really hot.
  24. I can confirm he received the least warm reception. I thought I caught a tiny bit of booing.
