  1. It's now been 5 minutes or so of game time since Carolina led 10-0. Good job, guys. Really need to answer here.
  2. Nothing is ever easy for the Panthers, even when they're (possibly) good. Took about 2 minutes to turn a 10-0 lead into a 10-10 tie with a minute left in the half.

  5. From the Star Press: His football career is over, but how great to hear that he is otherwise ok. 86
  6. Awesome video. Make them forever.
  7. Seconded. The only problem is that song is only about 2 and a half minutes and I imagine you'll have that video last at least 8 minutes if we win.
  8. Very good song. I immediately added the mp3 link from Hire Jim Essian to my computer.
  9. I'll get a division champs shirt if we don't make the World Series (even though I won't be happy about it, I still like having something to commemorate the season), an NL champs shirt and probably something else if we lose the World Series, and everything possible if we win. That's been my general philosophy with all my teams for a while.
  10. Echoed what everyone else said. FWIW, it could've been much worse for IU. Ball State fumbled in IU's red zone, missed a field goal, and gave up a TD on the play Love got hurt on. Still no word on Love. I'm getting a little worried. A poster on the small fansite BSUFans.com claims to have a source that says Love has a 'fractured fifth vertebra', but that's the closest we have to anything right now.
  11. Len is about the greatest human being alive. This may be an exaggeration, but I doubt it.
  12. What a great signature victory for Ball State. 42-20, shutting out IU for the second half, both our front lines shoving IU around all while our top playmaker lay in a hospital bed with Lord knows what's wrong. And there's no one left on the schedule that should be able to touch the Cardinals until the penultimate game of the season in Mt. Pleasant against Central Michigan. Should get a lot more than one vote in the AP poll next week.
  13. I know now how Michigan felt last week. We gift-wrapped that game to MSU with a horrible INT thrown by Jimmy in our territory (led to only Sparty TD until the last minute), a stupid Floyd flat-out-dropped-fumble in the MSU red zone that led to a FG for Sparty, and two missed field goals. ND may end up ok this year, but they are far from where they need to be - understandably so since everyone important is a sophomore or freshman. Ball State-IU is not for old-school Woody Hayes types. 28-20 at halftime, Cards lead. I'm praying for Dante Love, the nation's all-purpose yardage leader, who was carted off the field with what my friend (who has some experience with athletic training) believes may be spinal vertebrae damage. Nate Davis with a ridiculous 45-yard TD throw off his back foot and on the run in the game.
  14. The Cubs don't play home night games? He may mean home weekend night games.
  15. A guy I went to high school with, Frank Duong, just pick-sixed Dan LeFevour to give Purdue the lead. That's pretty awesome.
  16. Soto by far.
  17. I'm watching college football all day - ND at 3:30 and BSU at 7. I'll celebrate the clinch later.
  18. Another banner day for the Big Ten right now. OSU leads Troy 14-10 at halftime, Purdue is tied with Central Michigan and Pitt leads Iowa 14-10. (PSU obviously doing their job.) Let's hope it gets worse later today for the conference. :)
  19. Good point, the HFA number is 3 cause with a 3-6 finish we wind up 95-66 while the Mets could win out and they'd be 95-67. Wouldn't they play the game if it came down to that? Or does it matter when it only decides seeding?
  20. I would just like to point out that I've been adding "except Geovany Soto" every time I point out that basically every Cub has a huge game-tying or game-winning hit this year. Now I don't have to. :D
  21. Sean McDonough is one of the best regardless of what he's doing. I don't know what else he does - I imagine there's more - but he's on ESPN's college hoops broadcasts.
  22. I already have Burress and Boldin at WR. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but do I give the last spot to Donald Driver or the returned Steve Smith?
  23. Just think, if he didn't want to play with the Cubs, he probably would've gotten a lot more. IIRC there were published reports that San Diego offered him more than we did.
  24. I'd say no one deserves a spot unless their role can be defined and justified. Marquis can't start in the post-season -- with the days off, there is no reason for it. But he can be a help in an extra inning game, or if a starter struggles and has to be pulled before the end to the fourth. I think he's on because he has a role. Aside from the platoon players, who is the RH PH against a lefty? I still don't think they have a good option against Jon Lester at Fenway in the WS. Is Ronnie Cedeno or Hanry Blanco your DH for that game? Look at Ronny's splits. Just because Lou is always putting Cedeno in against righties doesn't make it smart, or even neutral. Ronny sucks against lefties. Blanco would be the DH in that spot.
  25. Not a fan? I think he's a great studio host.
