I have Nova in the Elite 8 and thought harder about having them knock off Pitt (my champ) than any other matchup for the Panthers.

A) The NIT is not a meritocracy. B) You can have our 2 seed and play UAB, ranked 42nd by Pomeroy, and we'll play Tulsa, ranked 58th. (Again. Not a meritocracy.)

Notre Dame played six games against the four #1 seeds (playing all four), plus 2 against 3 seeds. Even with everything else that went wrong, they might have been close to the bubble if Mike Brey could game the system correctly and play a bunch of 170 RPI teams in nonleague play instead of the 250 or worse that we routinely do.

We'll find out shortly, but I'd bet anything on one of the showcase teams going to Greensboro. Gus Johnson will probably end up in Portland, where there are two 5/12 and 4/13 games each, hence more potential for upsets.

they have better players, no doubt. but i think weber is better than howland. I'm not on board with that at all. and you can have your opinion. both are better than brey, though. Thanks for the cheap shot, like our absence from the dance doesn't speak enough to that.

UNC is in good shape for a Final 4 bid. I don't think they'll have to play Oklahoma, either.

I'm happy for Michigan. That's not a bad draw for them either.

The Big Ten is getting the total screw. I think it's funny because I dislike the Big Ten, but it's really really bad. Purdue in Portland, MSU a tough 7/10 draw, and Minnesota and Wisco underseeded.

Mizzou got sent to Boise as a 3, that hurts. Marquette/Mizzou is going to be a really good game.

That West will be really tough to pick. Maryland/Memphis is hard to think.

Yeah, Louisville, MSU, Kansas, WVU, Wake is a nice group. There are some legitimately frisky teams in this bunch, to boot. Definitely. Dayton, Siena, OSU (at home).
