  2. Quinn's probably more hurt than he admitted with that fractured finger. Of course, Anderson will now inexplicably play well and the 31st-best run organization in the league will probably find an excuse to keep him in.
  3. Hawkeyecub, I'd like to see anyone not get pumped up over what looked like a sea change to Notre Dame in Weis's first two years. Clearly, Brady Quinn had a lot more to do with 2005 and 2006 than anyone wanted to admit at the time. Ball State finally beats a decent team, which people have been calling for forever - on the road, no less - and they drop in the polls. That's cool.
  4. Fortunately for you, yes, you can watch us get crushed in the Sun Bowl by whoever the hell the Pac-10 feels like sending. unfortunate for ND, actually. Payout, sure, but you're more than likely going to lose your 10th straight bowl game I really don't care about the bowl streak as much as everyone else does. None of those outcomes really meant anything (I like bowls, but the fact is except for the national title game, none of those outcomes really mean anything - it's about the experience). I'm glad the young players can get another month of practice time before (hopefully) the new coach comes in. That's all I really care about. I actually hope ya'll fire Weiss because I heard a (very unreliable) rumor that ND would then go after Urban Meyer and there would be mutual interest. I'm almost certain it's not the least bit true, but it still made me happy. Oh come now, that rumor went around the last time Notre Dame had a vacancy. There was an editorial in a Florida paper this week where the columnist believes Meyer would go to ND soon or perhaps now because the circumstances are different. Four years ago Meyer had a young family that he didn't want to uproot, and now that family is not so young. His biography still states that Notre Dame is his dream job - and it was updated after he took the Florida gig. I'm not sure how much I believe any talk of Meyer (or whether ND would even try and pursue him a 2nd time), but GD it, would that be nice.

  7. I am reminded of Colin Cowherd's pro-Weis rant that he went on during the 2006 season when Charlie was 18-4 and looked like a fantastic coach (I only know about it because someone had it as audio to a fan-made video, please do not assume I would ever listen to Cowherd willingly). At one point he shouted down a caller that defended Ty with: "He was a bum! By the time he left he was getting crushed by Syracuse!" The irony.
  8. Lynch was 1-21 over a two year period while he was Ball State's head coach. That should have been all they needed to know. When Ball State gets so sick of you that they can you after a 6-6 season, that probably means you're not gonna cut it.
  9. Haha, Tyrone goes 0-11. At least I have a tiny, tiny, tiny bit of satisfaction from this day.
  10. Two. But I don't want to talk about this damn team anymore. Charlie has now lost to two teams who have huge, huge, huge talent deficiencies against us this month, and a third where his team blew a 14-point lead. He needs to go. That's all I have to add.
  11. Because you watch and can evaluate this at all. what kind of in depth statistical analysis needs to be done to tell you that ND's announcers desperately want ND to win every game? You would think. Of course, this same thread had people saying that Big East refs were trying to help Notre Dame take a better bowl bid from one if its league's teams. Maybe Hammond and Haden overcompensate, whatever it is. They're horrible announcers regardless of who they are rooting for.
  12. Because you watch and can evaluate this at all. i haven't watched this game, but usually notre dame games are practically unwatchable because hammond/sager are such homers. I haven't watched the other games, but all Hammond and Haden have done is lap up how great Syracuse showing effort is. Every good ND play was solely because of a bad Syracuse defensive assignment. And I have no idea why you said Sager, he's not on the crew.
  13. He didn't. At least we won't get crushed in the Gator Bowl.
  14. HAHA Cuse somehow leaves Golden Tate open on a 4th and 10. Course, Brandon Walker still needs to kick a 52 yard field goal.
  15. Because you watch and can evaluate this at all.
  16. Syracuse takes the lead 24-23 with 45 seconds to go. Tom Hammond and Pat Haden high-five in the booth. Whatever. Charlie Weis is d-u-n done it looks like.
  17. We get it, Hammond, it's very cool that Syracuse isn't throwing in the towel even though they're 2-8. It's a nice thing to see, it is not the coolest story of all time. Give it a damn rest.
  18. Tom Hammond and Pat Haden continuing to openly root for the other team is pretty disgusting.
  19. 28-0 Penn State? MSU is even further below the two good Big Ten teams than I thought they were. 10-0 Washington in the "Two Girls, One" Apple Cup. A UW player just lined up in the neutral zone on a 3rd and 1. Didn't matter because WSU got 5 or 6 yards, but my lord.
  20. That 'push' wasn't blatant and I wouldn't expect it called against the opponent either. And it took exactly one half of football since the ludicrous Navy game for fans to stop the moratorium on the "refs favor Notre Dame" crock of BS. Tate just had a possible TD not overturned on review, but you won't post about that, I'm sure. Oh, and Notre Dame sucks. I can't envision a scenario in which we beat USC with Charlie Weis as coach.
  21. In the "Indiana teams that aren't going to a bowl" game, Purdue leads IU 24-0 thirteen minutes into the game.
  22. What a horrible throw by Pryor.
  23. According to sources, the reason that Mike Haywood is MIA again this week, leaving Charlie to call plays against the Cuse, is that he's interviewing for the vacant Washington job. I find it very hard to believe the Huskies would hire another ND coach under a lot of heat, but I didn't think they'd be dumb enough to give Ty a fourth year either.
  24. Notre Dame with a much-less-than-impressive 65-54 win over Loyola Marymount, who was horrible last season. A road win is a road win, and Luke Harangody had 27 and 17, but playing like that again, even against IU, could spell major trouble. Kyle McAlarney went scoreless for what I'm sure is the first time since at least his freshman year and possibly ever.
  25. I believe he was saying was if Texas/OU/Texas Tech played each other in the National Championship Game against each other that Mizzou being the 3rd Big 12 team would be left out as 3 teams are not allowed in, and the two teams in the NC Game take precident. Oh, gotcha. Misread. But that would require one or both of Florida and Alabama losing to a vastly inferior team prior to the SEC title game. I'm not betting on it.
