  1. It's easy to shoot 64 percent when 80 percent of your shots are layups or dunks over guys four inches or more shorter. And in the NBA, he's not going to be allowed to shove, go over the back and hip-bump guys in midair to get blocked shots like he did at UConn. Whether or not he'll be any good in the NBA I don't know. I'm just glad that twit is out of my college hoops conference.
  2. Good, he only got to steal half a Big East POY award before leaving. You think he wasn't deserving? You could argue he changed how the other team played more than anyone. He also averaged the most blocks per game in Big East history and considering Ewing, Deke and Mourning all played in the Big East that's saying a lot. If you are horrifyingly bad at half the game, you can't be player of the year. And he got totally schooled - twice - by the guy he 'shared' the award with.
  3. With the Cardinals involved, it's never too early.
  4. I see what you did there.
  5. This was mentioned in the book "Cubs Nation", so I knew this.

  7. I use we the majority of the time. It probably annoys people, but that's just what I do.
  8. I was talking about the lack of proper tags, a title, a summary and track art. Sound quality's the same regardless. Oh. Well, I put a title and track art on it when I put it into iTunes, so I win either way.
  9. Our current 5th starter is better than our old 5th starter. Let's shell Marquis.
  10. I'm so happy to see these white jerseys again.
  11. Z'ing. They were decidedly not Z'ing Kevin Gregg.
  12. Presumably because most people know the circumstances surrounding him. Plus, Rusch at least had one good year for us. That 2004 was surreal.
  13. It was the only place this game could've been played, though. Hat tip to whoever it was on here that found the Justin.tv link for us, the only reason I got to see the end of that.
  14. I just saw this on WGN. He was truly one of the greats. Sad to see him go.
  15. Panthers take Robert Brewster, OT from Ball State. We have a good line but you can always use a little more reinforcement. Dew's up.
  16. Quality's actually better than you made it sound. Thanks, your wizardry continues :)
  17. Only good thing Pierre ever did with us. That was great.
  18. Seeing Everett reminds me. His former teammate Mark "Any Time I Get Lit Up, The Other Team's Cheating" Buehrle should at least be in the conversation for this team.
  19. The thing is, he's not going to. Lee has been horrible for the better part of 11 straight months. There's really no reason to expect he'll suddenly snap out of it now. I'd frankly be overjoyed if we could just get back the 2007 Lee that got on base but never homered. He'd be a huge improvement on the current model.
  20. That's the closest to the top I've been at any point in an NSBB HR Derby contest. Needless to say I doubt it lasts!
  21. I disagree with you completely but really hope Kenny Williams saw this post and only this post out of this thread.
  22. Bobby Cox too. Because I'm an unabashed homer, his 2008 season removed Edmonds from any all-douche team, past or future, for me. I think anyone that played for the 2005 White Sox or 2006 Cardinals (Edmonds depending on your opinion of him) earns douche points from Cubs fans.
  23. If we could somehow play our way into the 5 seed it would be awesome. Bulls/Hawks would be very entertaining IMO. I think the Bulls will win one, perhaps two games off one of the top three teams. Oddly enough, I like our chances better against the LeBrons than Orlando or Boston.
  24. Ryan Theriot had no chance whatsoever of turning two there and I'm moderately shocked anyone is saying he did. I would have been incensed at him if he'd tried because there's no way on God's green earth he'd have done it, he probably wouldn't have even gotten the out at 2nd. He made a poor throw to home, Koyie Hill didn't do the best job corralling it, and Weeks beat him. Frankly, the game was lost with Lou's insane managing and our lack of timely hitting, not because of that play.
  25. I for one am ecstatic we threw out the idea of signing Kerry Wood two minutes into the offseason and then ended up with someone way worse for 2M less.
