  1. Ed Reed is usually smarter than that. But a great hustle play.
  2. Also amazing that other teams keep giving the Colts the ball back in situations where they can score. At the very least the Ravens should've run into the line on 3rd and long to make the Colts use a timeout. And now it's pretty much ballgame because Baltimore can't play from this far behind.
  3. 2nd
  4. 90 points in 7 quarters.
  5. 9 for [expletive] 19 from the free throw line. We had a 93 percent shooter miss two FTs in a row and their 51 percent FT shooter made two in a row, on a 1 and 1 no less. Cuse is now a must-win.
  6. Irish lead at Cincinnati 39-37 with 14:30 to go. Need this one with Syracuse coming in on Monday night.
  7. YELLOW? I vaguely wonder if Kiffin is intentionally trying to portray himself as an idiot.
  8. Keep winning, Bulls. Keep logging 30-point games, Rose.
  9. I guess I didn't expect him to go. Should be interesting to see where he ends up and if he's given a real shot as a tailback.
  10. Two of my friends are going to the Colts game on Saturday.
  11. Who knows of the accuracy of this 10-millionth source, but here we go. So just to clarify the indignation rules, leaving Duke after 2 years to go to Tennessee is perfectly ok but leaving Tennessee after 1 year to go USC is an outrage. Just want to be sure so I know whether to be prepared to burn some mattresses if this happens. Well, let's not let a little ignorance get in the way of a weird rant. Cutcliffe has been at Duke more than 2 seasons? Enlighten me. Leaving Duke for Tennessee is a slightly different animal than Tennessee to USC, considering the difference in personalities and the difference in those coaches' results (comparative to program expectations).
  12. GaTech's O-line wasn't brought there to run the option, either. I suspect that as Johnson gets his recruits in there that the option will flow even better for them.
  13. I just hate the option. It's so dull and unimaginative. I can see that but when only a few teams are running it, I love it. I think what a lot of the "spread" teams are doing is really dull and unimaginative. Georgia Tech's offense (outside of the Iowa game) is really explosive against some good teams. I'll admit I didn't watch a lot of GT football this year, but in the bowl game I was looking forward to seeing what they were doing that was so special. After watching it, I came away wondering what the big deal was. The problem with bowl games for the option is you get a month to prepare for it. Good coaching can catch up to that given enough time. GT's lost both bowl games since Johnson arrived, one was a rout and this year wasn't that close either.
  14. Calhoun's called a team meeting for 5:50 pm today. Meanwhile, Skip Holtz just got hired at South Florida.
  15. How many names and seasons from the last seven years or so could you plug into that sentence to describe Cardinal players, though?
  16. I have no idea why the approval of Cubs fans is so important here. I fully expect that if the roles were reversed, there would be some Sammy hate going on.
  17. I'm with you, but just because I enjoy UNC getting crushed under any circumstance.
  18. Cincinnati loses to St. John's at the last second. Notre Dame really needs to get them on Saturday. The LMU loss has basically removed their margin for error, and they need to get every game they are 'supposed' to win, plus a couple that they're not.
  19. Jose Valverde evidently doesn't think he antagonizes the Cubs enough.
  20. I have no idea why Stoops seems so willing to leave Oklahoma, but that would make 2 jobs he's been linked to this offseason that really aren't any better (no offense).
  21. How is admitting that he used steroids for over a decade, including 1998 when he broke the single season HR record, not coming completely clean? Because he denied it for so long and now he's finally admitting it as a desperate ploy to garner sympathy to get into the Hall of Fame. I think part of it too is that he still is saying 'roids didn't actually help him hit home runs. Because his homer per at-bat rate suddenly doubled 7 years into his career by logical progression. Also, by coming back sooner from injury (which is exactly what you said you used roids for), you'd hit more home runs by being in the game at all, you dolt.
  22. Fixed. And it's going to be awesome. Part of me fears that SC wouldn't have gotten a guy like Kiffin if he had received any indication that the NCAA was coming down hard on them. I mean, he was THERE during the heyday of these violations, for God's sake. what does "a guy like kiffin" mean? a guy who was a miserable, overmatched pro coach hated by his entire organization and then won like 7 games in 1 season at tennessee? A well-known coach with a high profile - at least high enough that he can get some of the best assistants in the country to follow him around. Yeah, he's got much still to prove, but having assistants like Monte Kiffin, Ed Orgeron and Norm Chow is a good start.

  24. Reports have Kyle Prater going to SC now that Kiffin's been hired.
  25. I like the summer Games better, but I'll check out the winter Games too like I always do. That new snowboard cross event has no business being in the Olympics, but damn it's fun.
