  1. Who had the over on "Chris Kramer's first time being a douche"? 16:22 left in the 2nd, I have to believe the over/under was in the first half sometime.
  2. Siena daring Purdue to beat them from long range.
  3. Problem is, they're not doing it as well as Clemson right now.
  4. Firefox MMOD working much better than IE did yesterday. My Internet is super-slow at my apartment so my expectations aren't high - the video quality is crap but unlike yesterday it's not skipping. Fair trade.
  5. Go Bucky. I might have picked Wofford against a lot of teams, but not sure they match up well with Wisconsin. We'll see. SI picked Wofford, which surprised me. I generally no longer bet against Bo Ryan or Tom Izzo to go out early under any circumstances.
  6. UTEP was actually a perfectly reasonable pick - they matched up well physically with Butler and Vanderbilt never seems to live up to their seed (or in your case, you had Murray State). Butler just caught fire in the second half - luckily for me since I had Butler advancing out of that pod. And I want to be hopeful for the Big East myself, but Georgetown and ND were two of the teams I was relatively confident would deliver good performances and both tossed up stinkers. I doubt we can glean much tomorrow because of the 4 teams playing, three are 3 seeds or above, so unless someone pulls an Ohio from long-range they will all win easily.
  7. Lost in all the tourney action today, it was announced that in 2011, Michigan and Notre Dame will play the first night game in the history of Michigan Stadium.
  8. Marquette and ND's seeds were both ridiculous (I was saying that before they lost). I don't think the other upsets really reflect on the seeds. Marquette and ND being overseeded actually helps them. If they were both properly seeded at, say, 7 or 8, then they would get an even harder first round opponent. Well, I would much rather play a team like Florida in a 7/10 game then play the kind of small conference winners that are normally seeded 11. Generally the mid-majors that rise that high are pretty legitimate teams that are hungry, whereas the at-larges in that area are what they are and are highly unlikely to deliver a big-time performance. Obviously the way they played today they'd have lost to probably most anyone, but, in my totally uninformed opinion, it seems like the double-digit at-larges enjoy much less success than the 10-12 seeded small-conference winners.
  9. I will feel a lot better if my two picks to get to the title game - Ohio State and West Virginia - throttle their opponents tomorrow.
  10. I think the only fitting way to end the day would be a buzzer-beating 3-ball by Montana to win it.
  11. Granted the first round is only 2/5's over but I can't remember a better tourney. I don't think that is just getting caught up in the moment either. In terms of close games it's been pretty unbeatable so far. Hopefully tomorrow can live up to it.
  12. I haven't seen Ohio play. Are they that reliant on the three? No, they're not. But they really, really suck, and they beat Georgetown by hitting 13/23 from 3 (season average: 7 3s made a game).
  13. Congrats on your second-round bye, Tennessee. Note: Defend the 3-point line and you will win by 20.
  14. Wake Forest and Texas both really, really suck. I'd bet any amount of money on both 8/9 games tomorrow being significantly better-played.
  15. Former Ball State guards playing well in back-to-back games: Maurice Acker for Marquette and now Melvin Goins for Tennessee.
  16. I'd like to petition for a new derisive nickname, and one that my friend just posted on my wall - the Big JVeast - is my nomination. Big Least is just getting old.
  17. Purdue certainly doesn't deserve a #4 either. You're in luck, Smack. When I was deciding on a 13 to pick, it was down to Murray and Siena and I went with Siena - I'm positive that since Murray won, Purdue's now going to win to give me the old double-whammy of wrong upset picks.
  18. Marquette and ND's seeds were both ridiculous (I was saying that before they lost). I don't think the other upsets really reflect on the seeds. It may, however, accurately reflect how ridiculously overrated the big east was this year. I'm sick of playing the sample size card, I really am. And the selection committee overrated the Big East I suppose, but everyone else has been saying those two seedings were nuts since about 7:05 on Sunday.

  20. This is Marquette we're talking about. They played 16 games within 5 points or something nuts like that. They couldn't stand that kind of prosperity. Plus, they're in the Big East, a league whose entire mission is to annoy me today.
  21. Ohio isn't any good either and yet they blew out Georgetown. To dismiss Louisville's - or really anyone else's among the top 10 seeds - chances completely seems pretty shortsighted.
  22. Hey, I get to pick now? Yay! So since we have cut half our team, I have no idea what Carolina will look to do, but I'll bet on giving Matt Moore some more weapons. WalterFootball.com has us taking Mardy Gilyard from Cincinnati with this pick. That sounds good to me. So the Panthers take Mardy Gilyard.
  23. Yeah, I still won't ever forget the run my team had to end the year either, but I can't pretend it's not stained a bit by today. As for the Big East, they SHOULD be done losing for the round, but that would depend on which Louisville team shows up tomorrow. It better be the good one because I'm already down 2 Sweet 16 teams. You picked Louisville to Sweet Sixteen? Yeah, I'm banking on Good Louisville for this weekend. I don't feel great about it - but then I didn't feel great about Butler to the Sweet 16 either and that looks alright so far. You are such a Big East homer/Duke hater. I do not hate Duke at all. I just don't think they have a team designed to go far in this tournament. As for the other thing, I'm sure no one on here is a homer for their conference at all.
