  1. I think the ACC is going to get far more teams than they should.
  2. Horizon is a 1-bid league as well if Butler wins its tournament, correct?
  3. So I just paid for Gameday Audio and MLB.com has the WGN link synced up with a Baltimore station called 107.5 The Fan. Another season of baseball is here to be sure.
  4. I think UConn should get shuttled out simply because last night was must-win for them, and quite frankly, they looked like crap. Granted, ND has been playing great defense without Harangody, but there's no reason UConn should have shot THAT poorly when they had a height advantage. It's almost like they checked out a little bit. If you ask me they're probably going to lose at USF this weekend to make it a moot point.
  5. New Bracketology is up. Lunardi STILL has UConn in and puts ND in too, making 9 Big East teams. Somehow I doubt that's happening.
  6. Is the Maryland student section really shouting "[expletive] YOU" at the end of that song playing over the speakers?
  7. ND's done it again, winning ugly 58-50 over UConn. 22 for Tory Jackson in his final home game at ND. Irish players carry Gody off the floor postgame. If they beat Marquette it'll be hard to keep them out of the dance.
  8. Yeah, it might actually be tolerable to watch.
  9. ND down 3 at half to UConn despite shooting 1/11 from 3 for the half. Good luck getting us to do that two halves in a row, Huskies.
  10. Since when were OU fans defensive?
  11. I don't think it's even remotely too much to expect IU to be consistently among the top 20. Look at what Matt Painter has done with Purdue, a team that had had much less recent success than IU has had and is/was certainly less well known among the casual fans. Granted he's only in season 4 but the last three years he has had Purdue consistently in the top 20. If they can do it, IU can certainly do it.
  12. That's been the prevalent rumor for nearly 2 weeks now, I'd say. No idea of its accuracy, but if they're going QB it ought to be Clausen, I'd think. I don't think you should ever take a QB that high unless you think he's a stone-cold lock to succeed big-time in the pros because of the money. It befuddles me that the Rams could come to that determination about a guy who had shoulder surgery last year, didn't have that strong an arm to begin with and came from a system that would be ridiculed via pro potential if the players wore Texas Tech uniforms instead of Oklahoma. I think Bradford could be fine in the pros but I don't like him even close to that much.
  13. Repping ND, I am game for this.
  14. The talk now seems to be that the Rams are going to pick Bradford. Why? Well that's a question I don't ask. It's entirely possible that this is all more BSing pre-draft.
  15. It seems like Derrick Rose is being hurt every other week now.
  16. Harangody is less than 50/50 to go against UConn, and if he doesn't go against UConn he won't go against Marquette, per Andy Katz. The guy probably felt (and may have even been coached) that he needed to carry the team so he ended up trying to do more than he was capable of doing most of this season. But for the vast majority of the last 3 years, he's been the best player I've ever seen at ND. And all that being said...this team has incredible momentum right now without him, the attitude has completely changed, and I'm excited to see if the group on the court the last four games can sneak into the tournament, because they'll be some 6 seed's worst nightmare if they do.
  17. Maybe I am just remembering a couple big drops but he seemed to have quite a few drops. He's doesn't have horrible hands but from what I remember when he would get flustered he would start dropping passes left and right. You are remembering the third quarter of the Michigan game, the only time in 3 years I've ever seen him make a big drop (and he was being blatantly arm-barred by Cissoko with no flag most of that game anyway).
  18. Winning Olympic silver is still pretty awesome. That was an electric tournament. And Ryan Miller is a stud.
  19. Well, I guess that 40 time killed any hope of Tate falling to Carolina in round 2... Good for him. He deserves to be picked high and will be a very solid pro.
  20. I don't expect it to ever happen but I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the union. I could be wrong but the Combine is a separate event that is invitation only and done on a volunteer basis and thus the union has no say in what happens whatsoever. You're probably right, but requiring that drills be done would just decrease attendance at the combine, and the NFL doesn't want the combine to be less relevant.
  21. Why should players be forced to take part in drills that all too often overshadow more important things like how good they are at the game of football, therefore costing those that don't do well at drills millions of dollars? Good luck getting that through with the union.
  22. Depriving people of watching real events during the real figure skating competitions clearly is not enough for NBC. Gotta do it for pointless exhibitions too.
  23. How many times have we seen lately Rose drive into the lane and into contact and then not hear a whistle blown until after the shot misses? I mean that's just obvious. Ah, you outline perhaps the #1 thing that pisses me off about basketball officiating.
  24. To satisfy those hankering for a Ball State hoops update, the Cards lost to Eastern Michigan to gag away a chance at clinching the MAC West title, then lost to 3-win Toledo, which hadn't won a game in the year 2010, to gag away the actual title.
