  1. I don't know what I believe. I'm just trying to make sure quotes aren't misattributed. The only person I know I believe is Swarbrick. To back Manti so publicly makes him an absolute train wreck if it turned out ND was in on it. If this was indeed a prank pulled by Manti, it was limited to the Te'os.
  2. Te'o's dad said that. If you buy his story, Manti probably made that up too for the same reason.
  3. Complicit? How? That he perpetrated the fraud? To what end? He made up a gf for 2+ years? He was on the cover of SI before the alleged death. Then you think a lawyer and AD of ND is going to go out and publicly defend the kid and speak about the details, including the investigator they hired? I mean. What's the end game? Where's the benefit to a quiet, shy kid that everyone thought was sincere To me, given his ethnicity and faith, the homosexuality angle seems much more likely than him trying to drum up popularity, but of course that question goes both ways as well. Why would you string along Te'o for 2+ years and then fake that character's death? Is "con the college middle linebacker for multiple years, hope he gets famous, then fake their death and blackmail him for the secret" a much more likely outcome? If you read the Deadspin article, this didn't last 2+ years. Te'o Tweeted the account he thought was Kekua's 'pleased to meet you' in October 2011. If you believe Manti's version of events, he presumably made up the Stanford meeting in retrospect to cover the fact that he met her online.
  4. Swarbrick said earlier that this Tuiasosopo character being the perpetrator of this thing doesn't jibe with the info his investigators found.
  5. I don't know if Manti knew about this, but I think it's clear ND didn't. Swarbrick wouldn't be going on the offensive on this otherwise.
  6. Here's a sentence I never thought I'd type... In defense of that, the last thing a team needs heading into a title game is the story of a fake dead girlfriend coming out. Huge distraction.
  7. Sorry for bringing up a post from 3 pages back, but the Deadspin article, I believe, stated that the original Twitter account was deleted or deactivated not too long ago.
  8. Dude posted this from his mom's basement, amirite?
  9. The awards were long over by Christmas. That statement is crap. As wolf mentioned, doesn't cover the part where there are several supposedly confirmed instances where Te'o and this girl were together, starting in November '09.
  10. The ND statement says that the coaching staff was informed Dec. 26 that Manti had been hoaxed, which creates more questions than it answers.
  11. The ND fan misery thread Smack posted includes a poster claiming that Te'o is currently dating a girl from nearby St. Mary's College that he knows. Take that FWIW
  12. The absolute best-case scenario is that Manti Te'o is an absolute moron who got hoaxed by some chick over the Internet. Since I'm fairly sure he isn't an absolute moron...
  13. If Collin Klein did in fact kiss his wife before their wedding, now would be a great time for him to announce it.
  14. Excellence with integrity, guys. Seriously, that is befuddling on so many levels.
  15. It's at 3. Playing at 12 noon body-clock time isn't really a big deal so I suspect that plays into the line as well.
  16. What was the fourth? -Carroll calling the timeout to ice the kicker -Smith calling the timeout with 14 seconds left rather than running the clock down -The terrible kickoff Was it Seattle's play only going for four yards? Well, I disagreed with chucking up a Hail Mary rather than kicking a 65-yarder indoors, even if it is Ryan Longwell, but I guess reasonable minds can differ on that.
  17. There were at least four bad coaching moves made in the final 13 seconds of game time. Wonder if that's a record.
  18. Well, since we're not going to get the Fail Mary rematch, now I'm rooting for the read option-fest that would be a Niners/Seahawks game.
  19. I like Kaepernick. Of course, I root for Cam, who has different trademark celebrations for basically every good thing he does, so after that almost nothing is unlikable.
  20. Is GB aware Kaepernick can run? That's at least the second third-down scramble I've seen where there's no one in sight on the second level.
  21. It was pretty funny to see everyone flip out on social media about John Fox being stupidly conservative after watching it for 9 years.
  22. Kelly returning to ND.
  23. I like the black jerseys every now and again, but I totally agree with this as well.
  24. Browns just hired Rob Chudzinski so there goes a suitor for Saban. And I really think Saban only leaves if he can be GM. He aint leaving for just a HC gig. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Saban isn't leaving Alabama. He's a god, right next to Bryant. The Bama' boosters pay the assistant coaches almost a million dollars a year, that's why they don't leave. In the postgame on ESPN after the national championship, Urban Meyer whined about how when he was winning NCs at Florida, his assistants were being raided but that never happens to Saban now. It was fantastic hearing him complain. LOL at Meyer complaining about being raided for anything.
