Why not? This is a team that should have lost to Pitt and nearly lost to Purdue and BYU. ND never trailed Purdue and was without their QB against BYU. I'm not sure what the obsession is with those games. You're bragging about never trailing Purdue? Ha ha, that says it all. (No offense Smack, you guys still dominated IU.) I'm not bragging. I'm saying they didn't 'almost lose'. You act like I brought this up.

A) While JerryWorld is projected to host, I don't believe the title game is going to have any real affiliation with the Cotton Bowl. I read this week that they won't slap a corpo-name on the title game, so it won't be the same as the double-hosting model the BCS operates under now. B) Why do I have a feeling that when the semifinals are 12/31 that New Year's bowl ratings will take a nosedive?

No, it's ok, because we're keeping the guy who's led us to not one, not two, but THREE combined victories in two years prior to being eliminated from playoff contention. Nothing to see here.

The last Heisman finalist to go undrafted (pending Montee Ball and Tyrann Mathieu's draft results) was Kellen Moore, a finalist two years ago. I expect Klein's the next one.

They are the best conference. The argument of folks like me and several others in this thread isn't that the SEC is inferior to anyone, just that the open talk of how half the league would destroy any other team in the country regardless of circumstance is silly.

Lovie Smith would be such a Bills hire. I'm not saying its necessarily a bad fit, its just a boring vanilla coach joining a boring vanilla team. Edit: I wonder if any interviews he has are half-legit option and half Rooney rule. It would kill the Rooney requirements, true, but it seems like Lovie is pretty respected by most other teams out there. I imagine there's legitimate interest.
