  1. I forgot Mark Leiter is both available and good, in my defense that usually lasts about an inning and a half before someone goes on the injured list
  2. Well there is a 100% chance the Cubs score exactly one fewer run the rest of the way than they give up in this inning
  3. I'm not smart enough to know the baseball ramifications of that one but I hate Bregman's stupid face so I'll pass
  4. Opening day of 20. He also had the 81 pitch masterpiece against St. Louis (21 I think?)
  5. Wonder who gets called up for Morel when he inevitably gets IL'd. I never thought I'd see a run of injuries to top 2004 but this season is going to do it.
  6. I'm willing to bet more teams have lost 8-0 leads than lost games in which they drew 6 bases loaded walks (in one damn inning no less). At least San Diego earned their comeback; Pittsburgh desperately tried to hand this game over and the Cubs refused to accept it
  7. Complete with the Pirates inexplicably deciding to pitch to Bellinger even though Madrigal was on deck, a ridiculous decision that karma should've made them pay for making. This is worse than the Padres loss.
  8. Jed has gotten a lot more right than wrong, but turning the undisputed best reliever on the 2021 trade market into "slow infielder Juan Pierre but somehow a worse hitter" and a pitcher whose arm was apparently fastened together with shoelaces and a half broken zipper was a big miss
  9. I'm almost certain a team has never lost a game in which it drew 6 bases loaded walks in one inning so we could see some history tonight
  10. If our guys got bonuses for blowing leads quicker I don't know if they'd be able to do it any faster
  11. Assuming that does happen, I think that leaves Busch as the only damn player on the roster to both have an unassailably good season so far and not be on the IL. We're 6 weeks in. ETA I forgot Assad
  12. I quit watching to do some yard work and I'm not even that surprised, this team is weird
  13. Of course after the Morel missile shot stayed in, that goes out. Gonna be one of those days
  14. And now Morel is hurt. horsefeathers hell
  15. I would've understood taking the chance but it felt to me like he'd have been out rather easily with a decent throw
  16. Just negative faith Yan was going to get it done there
  17. PNC National Forest strikes again, I would've sworn that was gone
  18. It's chuckle worthy watching guys hit line shots his direction and immediately thinking "welp, tough noogies, guy"
  19. Ben Brown is real good. I know it's not in the cards for him to start this year but it'd be cool if he could get turned into one later
  20. Yes, it appears he's probably got some sort of injury. It's really his own fault for playing well, we all know the rule is Cubs players aren't allowed to both play well and be healthy.
  21. Today is apparently like one of those video games where you get on too long of a winning streak and the computer turns on the "you're not winning" chip.
  22. Pat liking Ron versus whatever relationship Boog and Girardi have probably pushes the radio crew over the top though
  23. No Dansby again. Obviously he is still stinking out the joint on offense, but I doubt he's just being flat out benched. Probably banged up.
