    Milwaukee is pummeling the Pirates, so a win would be a very good idea tonight.

    Len is an oddball enough guy that I can take at face value that he wanted to be on the radio and potentially do postseason games (whoops), things the Cubs couldn't offer. If I hear anything to the contrary it'd be easily believable, but we haven't.

    Do we have even the slightest explanation for why he is so damn terrible all of a sudden? He was never great but he's always been solid, and for a good while now he's basically been a fancy Madrigal

    Morel practically kills himself to work a walk, maybe the best PA of his career, and the Cubs lose 2 pitches later. Good lord.

    14 players on the IL, LMAO. I know they weren't all on the opening day roster but if you were you basically had a coin flip chance of being on the injured list within 6 weeks.

    It's legitimately weird that after years - decades, really - of seemingly one stupid thing after another working out for St. Louis that all of a sudden nothing is working for them at all. To be clear, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It's just weird.

    There was an Athletic story about this that was pretty interesting. He actually asked for a number change over the offseason but he wanted 14, which Adam Duvall took. 45 was assigned to him and no one from Atlanta was willing to talk about it, so it seems likely someone in the organization decided to be a jokester and bring that topic into baseball for no good reason. Tromp himself said he didn't even realize for a while why fans were giving him more attention than usual until it was brought up to him.
