  1. God, CFB fans are just the [expletive] worst sometimes. Glad he appears to be mostly ok.
  2. At one point in 2004 we had 8 different players on the DL. Don't remember how many were good but it was a pretty ridiculous run of bad luck.
  3. Managed to grab 2 for the Sunday White Sox game. Saturday was sold out before I got there. If I end up averaging under $100 per for the two games I'll be happy.
  4. I couldn't believe that. How many drunk-driving deaths and arrests does that organization need to rack up before self-important blowhards stop writing articles like that?
  5. They'd probably offer him something like that this very instant if they thought there was a shot in hell he'd take it.
  6. I don't veto any deal, but that doesn't stop me and the other 11 people in my league from pointing out when one owner is ripping off another (which is generally one owner in particular who is obsessive about baseball to an insane degree and, more to the point, has tons of free time, so he's won 3 of our 4 titles). But no trade should ever be vetoed unless you can prove some sort of disallowed activity.
  7. That was probably the highlight. Of course it wasn't entirely his fault the rest of the team was so freaking terrible.
  8. Grand Slam vs. the Phillies in late August '08 Probably my favorite moment of the whole season, just because the team had so conditioned me to think they were going to erase any deficit that I almost assumed Aramis was going to hit a slam in that AB. And then he did.
  9. Seriously, seriously doubt the Bulls would've trumped Dallas' offer for Rondo. Dallas overpaid.
  10. The Bulls aren't winning until at least 2017-18, which is the first year after Rose's contract is up. The NBA is really dumb like that.
  11. I briefly got excited about this, then realized that I'll be watching every non-ESPN/FOX game on MLBTV no matter what. That will take some getting used to.
  12. Congratulations Cleveland Indians!
  13. I generally don't like them either, but I bought the #10 patch to put on my Santo jersey. I'm a massive hypocrite.
  14. http://www.phillyvoice.com/last-5-years--mel-kiper-predicted-8-picks-right/ If he'd been 100% accurate, the first round picks the last 5 years for the Bears would be: 2010: None 2011: Aaron Williams 2012: Michael Floyd 2013: Tyler Eifert 2014: Timmy Jernigan Initial mock drafts? Like, the mocks now? Because if that's the case, 8 of 160 really isn't that bad considering all the trades and stock changes that happen in 3 months.
  15. Apart from the obvious, his face and arms sort of remind me of Javy's.
  16. You guys that have found the time/money to go to more than 2 ballparks make me envious. (Cincinnati is the only other one on my list.)
  17. I called him Conjoined Fetus Left Fielder when he played. The fact that he inexplicably became a solid major leaguer from nowhere at like age 26 made me irrationally annoyed.
  18. Oh god, we're not rid of this guy yet?
  19. plzplzplzplzplz Unless that pitcher happens to be Travis Wood, why would this be a thing we would want to have happen? Because the pitcher usually only bats twice (three times if you're lucky and he and/or the offense is doing well), after which point you're probably going to have hitters available to use in the 8th spot that are better than whoever your worst hitter in the lineup that day is.
  20. I always appreciate the annual reminder that following ND basketball is a waste of time because they're not that good and never will be. Given that they've sucked ever since beating Duke, I can't say there weren't warning signs.
  21. he's doing SEC network, isn't he? Gross Fowler basically leveraged his way into Brent's job with his last contract and ESPN exiled him to the SECN.
  22. I could very easily be wrong, but I took that article to mean in-market streaming would be allowed (i.e. you could watch your local FSN games on MLB.TV if this went through), not a full-blown 'every FSN game included' situation.
  23. Fowler noticeably improved (IMO) over the course of the season doing play by play and was pretty darn good in the title game. He's no Musburger but he's quite good. Rece Davis has been presiding over ESPN's Holtz and May pony show the last decade, dealing with Corso is going to be a freaking picnic by comparison.
  24. Dude tried to use Jimmy [expletive] Chitwood as a decoy. Great motivational coach, sketchy X's and O's guy.
  25. I know more or less what goes on with ND because I follow a couple of the sites on Twitter. Blissfully ignorant of most of it.
