    I'm really over this David Ross thing. He's going to retire at some point during Lester's 7-year contract, I think, so he'll have to pitch to someone else eventually.

    I could give a rip about the White Sox either way now, but I irrationally hated that 2005 team. I spent a lot of time wondering how the hell they got the rough equivalent of prime-era Pedro Martinez innings out of the trio of Neal Cotts, Cliff Politte and Dustin Hermanson, 2 of which were out of baseball within 2 years. And, of course, Pierzynski.

    I remember being pissed when Hendry dumped him off when it appeared his value was at his lowest. He was never any good again, so Hendry got that one right.

    have you been there? i kinda see where he's coming from In fairness, I have not. I get what he's saying, but he sounded like a shill. Len has made no bones about being in favor of the Cubs' rebuild in all facets, so he tends to come off like a shill when talking about it.

    I think my AdBlock on Chrome is blocking ads. I haven't gotten an MLB.tv ad in forever. oh Roku must block ads too, because I haven't gotten any this season. I wasn't getting any on my MLB.tv Samsung Smart TV App either. Weird. Yep, I haven't gotten any on that either.

    I haven't looked at the other years, but it's been a problem or crappy luck for at least the last two. 2014: .223/.303/.341/.644 2013: .218/.309/.360/.669 2012: .231/.323/.358/.681 2011: .232/.313/.376/.689 2010: .262/.340/.421/.761 2009: .241/.340/.376/.716 2008: .278/.367/.452/.819 So they actually weren't terrible in 2010, but yeah, other than that since '08 it's been pretty awful.

    Not really related, but I listened to the 5th inning of the opening night game, and Pat stayed in the booth and was chiming in while Len did the PBP. Like he was a second color man or something. I expected him to leave, so it threw me off.

    Matt Harvey or Cole Hamels Something like this is the correct answer, and they have to have a contract situation comparably favorable to Castro's. There's no reason to trade the guy, so any offering team needs to give them one.

    he's the first person I've heard doubting Russell at SS lately. To be fair, calling Castro a better defender than Russell isn't necessarily saying Russell couldn't play SS.

    I was going to rant about Lynn coming out of nowhere to be an effective pitcher and then decided this wouldn't be the right time to do so. I was more annoyed that they just lifted him out of the pen and jacked up his innings count with no repercussion, but I guess the jump wasn't that huge (109 to 176).

    My fantasy opponent has Arenado, Tulowitzki and Betts, so you could say today hasn't gone great. (Obligatory 'no one cares')

    Was really nice to see Motte come out and just shut things down. The bullpen's kickassness last night was definitely the biggest positive to come from the evening.

    They're definitely better coached. I do think Wisconsin wins fairly easily, though.
