  1. lol Do you not grasp the notion that seeing fewer strikes than any hitter in baseball might impact a hitter's production? Lineup protection hasn't been shown to be a statistically significant thing. He may also be laughing at your implication that Castro is not a decent hitter, but I hope not, because at least this year, he isn't.
  2. We really need to quit hitting Castro cleanup. [tweet] [/tweet]
  3. I would say we'd just plug a better defensive player in there, but the only poor defensive player we have is Coghlan, so I guess he'd probably DH while Lake or someone played the outfield (not that Lake is a Gold Glover either).
  4. I got into a very heated argument with a Mets fan back in I think 2008. Johan Santana was something like 9-8 for the season with a sub-3 ERA and he was blaming Johan for not getting more wins.
  5. Was at this one. The wind wasn't just blowing out, it was practically howling at times. Dumb that we couldn't score after the 2nd batter of the game.
  6. The trade worked out really great for us, but I'm sure that the Padres thought it was a decent deal at the time. They had a decent prospect (Alonso) at 1B, they played in a huge ballpark that hurts power hitters (Rizzo) and rewards pitchers (Cashner), and obviously had no way of knowing that Cashner would be injury prone. Cashner had just gone through an injury-plagued 2011, so there was at least a little reason to believe that was the case.
  7. I rolled over in bed after throwing in the towel, saw they had tied it, and Rizzo's dong was the first pitch I saw. That guy is going to win the MVP.
  8. That was not a game we were trailing nor was it a closer (I think)
  9. I don't like the idea of having to avoid Goldschmidt doing something ridiculous again to win.
  10. We're still better and it'll be at least 2 innings until we have to face that [expletive] again. Win this [expletive]
  11. No chance, Goldschmidt is due 2nd and Pollock has been crushing him tonight
  12. My MLB.TV app on my smart TV has crashed twice tonight. Anyone else having this problem?
  13. Tomas sort of looks like a taller and fatter Russell
  14. They took Collmenter out, but this game is a bunch of BS at the moment
  15. I apologize for ever doubting you Addison Russell.
  16. Ross is working hard on getting back on my [expletive] list after a brief departure. I can't believe we're a Russell out from screwing this up
  17. Yeah, he's remembered he's a [expletive] relief pitcher and not an ace. It only took 3 or 4 years
  18. It's a tribute to home runs and pitching that we won 3 of 5 games in a stretch in which we didn't have a hit with RISP. Today is an excellent day to collect some of those.
  19. Send him out there Joe and have someone ready. GET THE SHUTOUT
  20. When did teams start shifting like that against Castro? He really needs to get back to driving the ball.
  21. Billy Beane went insane. And thank God he did.
