I don't hate him (hell, I'm an ND football fan). It's just sort of amusing to watch him struggle after bad-mouthing the Cubs so much, I guess. I can't really explain it. Maybe it's some leftover Sox hate from my younger days bubbling up.

I don't know why a part of me is enjoying Samardzija's struggles when I sympathized with Matt Garza for having basically the exact same complaints he did. And yet I am.

This combined with a rotation of say Price Cueto Lester Arietta This years 7th pick (yeah its a strech but yeh cubs have money...) holy fck what if they dipped and signed both next offseason? whats that rotation. Baez, if he can learn to take some pitches and get some hits like bryant deep in the count (rbi singles) he could be like Nolan Arenado. he has the D and speed to be a webgem monster at 3b No. No, no, no. Take the best college bat and never draft a pitcher high ever.

He was probably right but also lucky that nothing horrible like an injury has happened yet (furiously knocking on wood). Other than injuries to Wada, Grimm and Ramirez that crippled the pen for a stretch? True, that wasn't good, but they're also Wada, Grimm and Ramirez and not a key member of the offensive core or a starting pitcher.

The Bulls aren't going to get a better opportunity than this. Cleveland's minus a key player, Atlanta is banged up and looking extremely mortal. Not discounting the possibility that LeBron goes Keyser Soze and wills Cleveland to the Finals by himself, but there's a real chance to win the East if they don't screw it up. Unfortunately, very little that's happened the last two games inspires confidence in that area.

Thibodeau has lost just about every important player on his team in playoff series the previous 3 years to a series of fluke injuries that have a specious, if any, connection to the minutes they have played. This series hasn't been his finest (and last year's wasn't either), but his record speaks for itself.

So the compromise is that it does that for like 3/5 of at bats and then goes back to regular NL play. Complete with they strategic situations the anti-DH clamor for. you know who else had a 3/5 compormise We've found @PFTCommenter I think
