  1. Not sure of Coghlan's decision to go for second, but man is he swinging it well right now. Now please don't screw this up
  2. Righty vs lefty be damned, I'd rather have seen Grimm if he was going to pull Wada.
  3. Stop taking Wada out for these [expletive] people
  4. I know some of this is because of the way they pitch, but damn is it annoying to see our guys hit fly balls when the wind blows in and grounders when it goes out.
  5. We don't score when the wind blows out, chances might be better this way.
  6. More likely he's having a bad stretch. Relievers have them unless they're super studs.
  7. Full extension on his arms and it didn't even seem like he got all of it. That was some swing.
  8. Well, the chances of our pen outpitching KC's by 1 run are certainly better than it doing so by 3. Would be awesome to see Soler do that a little more regularly. Hope that kicks him into gear.
  9. If we lose out to the Pirates for a playoff spot, I will take the blame. I traded McCutchen basically right before May 5 because every fantasy analyst was panicking about how his swing was different, his LD% was microscopic and there was little reason to believe it would get better unless he went on the DL. Apparently all he needed was to not be on my team.
  10. I could get used to the sight of Bryant driving in Russell.
  11. I like the idea of Russell being the #9 hitter, but he's been playing too well for it lately.
  12. It'd be nice if Castro were ever rewarded for the handful of times he hits the ball hard the other way.
  13. It's ok, only 2 more innings until the people who actually have a chance of driving in runs bat again
  14. I seriously doubt Cubs fans are outnumbered in this game.
  15. Olives are good as a pizza/burger topping, but not so much by themselves.
  16. [tweet] [/tweet]Castro back at cleanup, no Coghlan.
  17. Could really use 2 of 3 in this set after the way the last week's gone.
  18. Swinging and missing on Tyrus over Aldridge is a fair criticism, but I don't know if you can say they didn't sell high. They did get a pretty decent first-round pick out of Thomas, although the jury is out if what they did with it (McDermott) was smart. That said, I frankly dislike the current FO. On the whole they still seem to operate on that Jerry Krause 'organizations win championships' garbage that is flat-out wrong.
  19. You'll definitely get a ticket unless you have a guest pass. There used to be permit-free parking near Barry and Racine but I don't know if that's still the case. Dang. Thanks. How far are you willing to walk? When I was younger and more broke I just parked sufficiently far from the park and walked. I know I had to go past Southport, but I can't recall how much further it was. Anywhere past the 7-Eleven store on that corner is free parking. It's only about a 10-15 minute walk from there.
  20. I was at Monday's game and am very impressed at the way the boards have been weaved into the game experience. They don't overpower it, they are a complement. That was my worry coming in, and the Cubs have surpassed my expectations in flying colors in that area.
  21. It doesn't.
  22. If they can magically stop tall people from having foot injuries, frenetic players from suffering fluke knee injuries, and manage to Jedi mind trick the best player of our generation into leaving the conference, that would be excellent as well. But that's all very reasonable.
