  1. Castro out because his 2nd child is on the way. New lineup - Russell cleanup. Denorfia cf Rizzo 1b Bryant 3b Coghlan lf Russell ss Baxter rf Ross c Lester p Herrera 2b
  2. I like Chris Denorfia, but when he's by far your best hitter of the 4-8 group, that's...not good.
  3. Edwin is going to end up starting Saturday, isn't he?
  4. It does take a really long time to set a second preset on a radio dial
  5. Fallon has always been a Yankees fan, I think, inasmuch as he actually cares at all, which is very little.
  6. I actually sorta like the shade of red they used, but pretty much everything else is a mess.
  7. Do other non-local fans prefer to watch Len and JD on MLBTV, even on delay, over the national guys in those spots, or is that just me?
  8. I think it's unnecessary. Agreed - though I like the general concept of wanting to have our best bullets available for STL, every win we can get is important. If it's late August or September, and a sweep could get us into a tie with them or something, you might be on to something, but it's too early to think like that.
  9. What a GREAT pair of wins. Keep this up!!
  10. C'mon Rondon. Hammel deserves to win, and we really need this game to stay scoreless.
  11. What the hell is he doing there? Is it like a lemonade stand, where for 50 cents he'll tell you what really happened?
  12. Rough lineup today. Let's really demoralize them by beating them with it. Good news on Fowler.
  13. I'd prefer edging them by a game for the division and watching them lose the wild-card game at home with the second-best record in the NL. I mean, what I'd really like is for them to stop playing over their heads for once and miss the playoffs entirely, but I have to be at least vaguely realistic.
  14. This could definitely work. I lived in SC for 6 years (hence the Panthers' fandom) and the whole area was a Braves area by default. I bet a Carolina team would quickly gain a foothold.
  15. I think this Bryant guy is gonna make it.
  16. This would be an excellent win. Close it out, guys.
  17. I appreciate that Len wants to defend Ross, and he has his moments, but people don't criticize him because he can't hit. They criticize him because he's Lester's binky and as a result we have to play him in even worse matchups than he already faces due to his inability to hit.
  18. Get the 14 man staff ready for tomorrow, I guess.
  19. Someone needs to supplant Wada. This 6-7 innings of bullpen because he is hurt or ineffective every other start isn't going to work.
  20. It annoys me about enough to make a one-off post about it, and that's it. I have no idea why such posts would even slightly bother somebody.
  21. Yeah, that's super lame, but if they funnel that money to the payroll I'll survive.
  22. kershaw is exactly the sort of guy you would want montero to avoid. also this wind better stop/shift or wada is legit going to give up 5 hr tonight. It's probably just rationalization, but part of me thinks that it might be better this way. Make it a game where neither starter makes it through 4 because every fly ball is a home run, that way the extreme SP mismatch matters less because you have to score 15 to win. I like this way of thinking, but the Cubs are constantly unable to get the ball in the air on days like this, it feels like.
  23. If this game gets played and we win it, it would be an excellent thing.
  24. Yep. Through 8 now after an outstanding play by Espinosa to end the 8th
