  2. Yeah, I'm not really worried at all. Harvey was outstanding, Lester was merely good, and the distribution of BABIP luck (Mets got 2 runs due to bloop hits while we hit probably 5 or 6 lasers right at people) will not continue. Tip your cap and win Game 2.
  3. MSU didn't even send anyone back to return the punt. All UM had to do was have their punter catch the snap and kick it in the air and they win. Hell even after the muff, if he just falls on it at the 40, MSU has 6 seconds to either convert a Hail Mary or gain 20 yards while getting out of bounds in 5 seconds to have a reasonable attempt at a FG into the wind. Their win probability was apparently 99.8%. Basically 2 rather improbable errors had to occur plus MSU had to set up blockers and return it for a TD. I just don't see any reason to do anything differently except for hindsight Hindsight obviously helps, but I've long felt that anything under 12 seconds, just have someone run around for a while and then throw downfield. I didn't know MSU didn't send anyone back, though. Even if you're selling out for a block, that's a mistake and Dantonio got away with it.
  4. That UM ending was absolutely brutal. I thought ND had figured out all the horrible ways to lose games the last decade or so but they certainly haven't ever lost one like that. In the same spot again, I have to think any coach would just have the QB run around and then chuck the ball way downfield. At least force the other team to make a huge play. ND far from impressive tonight (Brian VanGorder should not be the ND DC anymore), but they managed to pull one out.
  5. I had a feeling Schwarber was going yard both of the first 2 times he did, and I have a feeling he's doing so again.
  6. I love that he ranks Castro #1 basically just because of the clapping.
  7. That would be right up there among the dumbest possible reasons to lose Syndergaard for a game. God bless you, Terry Collins.
  8. Does game six move to prime time if there is no game 7 of the ALCS? Yes, it would be at 8 ET.
  9. TBS showed a tentative schedule (no times beyond Sunday) that had 'Tuesday afternoon' listed for Game 3. If it is a night game, they reversed course.
  10. This series is going to be, hopefully, a blast. All the young hitting vs all the young pitching. BEAT THEM.
  11. I stopped following Sheehan a long time ago after it became apparent that all he really does is bitch about everything.
  12. If Obama wears Cubs stuff when he threw it that'd actually be pretty cool.
  13. This is a very, very bad idea. We have an overload of half-decent or better bullpen arms for the first time all season right now. Don't mess around with a bad one.
  14. Teams set rosters for each series, and we haven't set ours for the NLCS, so we can make a change without an issue.
  15. Of all the days for the NLCS to be in the afternoon, Tuesday would be the crappiest from a purely selfish perspective as I have to work late that night and would have to go radio silent for like 8 straight hours before I got to watch.
  16. Fox had all the LCS rights at the time. I know in 2004 the NLCS was basically exiled entirely to FX, which at the time not that many people got. Not sure what happened in 2003.
  17. I didn't register for the NLDS because I knew I couldn't go anyway, but did for the NLCS despite the fact that I couldn't go anyway. Also didn't get in. Hoping for a WS miracle, or failing that, that I can get a ticket from someone who does.
  18. If the NLCS goes at least 6, and the Cubs win it, that would line up Lester/Arrieta again to go in Games 1 and 2 of the WS. If we win in less than that it'd probably be flipped.
  19. The time I saw was after the inning and it was because Dyson and Tulowitzki exchanged words. AFAIK Bautista's bat flip didn't result in anything but awesomeness.
  20. I get a kick out of the BTTF thing, but I think it'd be a bit too cartoonish to have Michael J. Fox throw out a pitch. Stick to Cub greats. Sammy needs to get a game. The place would explode.
  21. That's surprising considering it'd be a 5:07 local start if LA wins. Not that surprising. National needs override local ones at this point.
  22. LMAO I hope Javy never learns anyone's name.
  23. It really is amazing. Every one of our noted young dongsmiths has gone yard at least once, some twice, and Schwarber has two of the most epic dongs the playoffs have ever seen - even Castro got in on it. The level-headed among us would've, and probably have, laughed at the idea of doing what we just did.
