  1. Wut? Carolina. Their path has to be one of the hardest for a #1 seed I've ever seen. Just venting mostly, I think they're better than Seattle, but that game will be a dogfight.
  2. 15-1, #1 seed, and the reward is having to beat the 2 time NFC champs, the hottest team in the league and the greatest QB/coach ever to win the Super Bowl. NE, meanwhile, gets KC without their best offensive player, then either an injury-decimated Steelers team, at home, or a decrepit Peyton Manning. That's fair.
  3. Lewis, Burfict and Jones might as well be fired/cut tonight.
  4. I've seen 2 really bad ones unfold with vested interests (Jake Delhomme 08 and Ryan Lindley last year) but that one was pretty bad.
  5. I just love losing games in large part because the other team spent the first 30 minutes making every [expletive] shot they tossed up including 10/14 3s
  6. It is, this is very unusual.
  7. 8 is only happening if first round is campus sites. And it should also include the removal of conference title games. 16 games is a bridge too far for college athletes. Revenue from the games would be made up with the extra round.
  8. FWIW, I don't think it's doing that on Tapatalk.
  9. I don't particularly care, but in all the 'the ratings are way down' chatter I didn't see anyone note that NYE and NYD might not be super comparable, what with NYE being maybe the largest party/group get together/not watch the TV individually day of the year. Maybe the ratings are still down after taking that into account, but it seemed like an obvious (if only partial) explanation that I didn't really see. Maybe I wasn't looking close enough. Huh? Are you making a joke? Everybody noted that ratings were down because they aired on NYE which is a terrible day/night for television since people go out partying. On a side note, they've also successfully reduced any interest in the national title game by apparently holding it the day after MLK day. MLK day is a week after the title game. But you touch on a point that annoys me about all the bellyaching - it seems to me that it's at least as inconvenient to fans - and certainly to younger fans - to have the national title game ending past midnight Eastern on a weeknight as it is to have semifinal games on New Year's Eve (which is a day that I imagine anyone who actually cares enough to watch the games can take off work). But no one seems to care about that.
  10. I have never in my life seen so much pissing and moaning from any group of people about something so wildly unimportant as from the college football media sphere about the playoff games being on New Year's Eve. It's gotten to the point where people are actually angry on behalf of ESPN and Disney, which are only worth about 5 floppity-jillion dollars.
  11. The idea that the SEC has 5-7 top level teams is ludicrous. Florida was flat out bad by the end of the year. Tennessee lost 4 times. Ole Miss list to Memphis. Everyone else was worse than those teams are. The SEC was Alabama and very little else.
  12. No idea on earth why McCaffrey didn't win the Heisman.
  13. Jaylon Smith was about the only good ND player left without a season ending injury, so of course he gets one. This season is [expletive] stupid
  14. Saturday blackouts ended in 2014. The only games blacked out on Saturdays are the Fox games airing in market. Other Fox games aren't.
  15. The AFC, meanwhile, will pit Brandon Weeden, Alex Smith, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brock Osweiler and AJ McCarron against the Patriots for a Super Bowl bid. My team will almost certainly have to beat 2 of Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers and Carson Palmer to get there. This strikes me as lame.
  16. CMU's coach resigned last year to be a coordinator at Arkansas, and 2 other small conference schools have followed that path since 2013, but it's still unusual. What Lembo and CMU's coach have in common is that they were probably on thin ice the following year if they had stayed.
  17. Not a personal rant, but oh my God, a semifinal in my league just ended in a tie because Stafford took those knees.
  18. I was wildly, absurdly, incredibly wrong about him as an NFL player. Not saying he will do it, but he could win a Super Bowl more or less by himself the way he is playing.
  19. Josh Norman might literally have driven Odell Beckham insane today. Beckham was acting like a pissed off teenager most of the game including launching one of the dirtiest headshots I've ever seen on Norman.
  20. Lots of SEC in that list. The league's move to get into Texas looks more shrewd all the time.
  21. it still amazes me that he went from completely washed up trash that all of us were pissed about them signing to somehow donging all over the place and putting up a 900 OPS We were all pissed that Hendry was doing anything he could to block Felix Pie and then he put up a OPS in Chicago that would've led the league if taken by itself. It was like we'd stolen the pixie dust formula. That was fun.
  22. Sumlin is now saying Murray will be at practice tomorrow. Very strange times in College Station.
  23. I haven't listened to the radio in my car outside of Cubs games basically ever. Google Play music did, however, remove the functionality of picking up right where it left off on the most recent update, which is annoying.
  24. Wait, he's married and has a kid? Count me as knowing neither of those things.
