  1. No way they blackout the playoffs, right? Huh? Why would they do that when they are the only network in the country broadcasting the game? Yeah, I'm not sure jumbo realizes those blackouts don't apply when the local RSNs don't have the game.
  2. This happened to me in my keeper league 2-3 years ago. Ended the season with far and away the most points but missed out on the playoffs with like a 5-9 record since I played the highest scorer every week. Update: After the 3pm games, I held a 154-139 lead. Opponent had Roethlisberger left, I have Minnesota's D. You can see where this is going. Normally in that situation I'd feel pretty good about winning. But Roethlisberger scores him 43 points and now I need 25 points from Vikings D to avoid going 0-4. I am likely to finish with the 3rd most points in the league this week and of course my opponent will finish with the 2nd most. How does this keep happening? I hate that so much. One year I led my league in scoring four different weeks (I don't remember where I finished for the whole season in scoring, but it was high) but finished 5-8. 1-8 when anyone in the entire league outscored me.
  3. This week I somehow caught the wrong end of 3 same-team combinations that should usually go my way. I had DeAndre Hopkins and my opponent had Will Fuller, which resulted in about minus-20 points for me. I had Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett and my opponent had Jimmy Graham, which resulted in minus-6 more. (Just to rub it in, my opponent also had Russell Wilson, who threw TDs to CJ Spiller and an undrafted rookie FA, but not Baldwin or Lockett.) I had David Johnson and my opponent had John Brown...another minus-4 points. I am somehow winning by a fraction of a point because I had Matt Ryan (hey, thanks for ruining my NFL season, buddy), but I have Orleans Darkwa and my opponent has Odell Beckham Jr. tonight. It'd be nice if I caught the right end of one of these improbable teammate dichotomies, but who am I kidding.
  4. FS1 has UFC stuffs that night so I imagine that's the problem. Maybe MLB shot down being on FS2? MLBN always gets a couple of playoff games regardless of whatever else is going on. They did last year too but both of them were AL games.
  5. I have a wedding to attend the weekend after this one and I live in fear of missing an NLCS game because of it. One thing at a time, though.
  6. Andy Lee is the only good Panthers' player. He's also the punter.

  8. Good for IU, they've had a lot of near misses against the good East teams and deserved one. ND still has played no one with a Power 5 win, but that will end next week because NC State toppled mighty Wake Forest today.
  9. I don't want the Cardinals anywhere near the playoffs. i mean at this point, i'd rather face them than the giants, not that it matters. the three team are all pretty mediocre. the main thing for me is avoiding thor and madbum (and maybe cueto) as much as possible. the cardinals have none of those. and tiebreaker games are always fun. having 3 one game playoffs to watch this week would be cool. horsefeathers St. Louis. If the choice is "only" two such games or 3 with at least one involving them, give me two.
  10. ND still hasn't played an opponent that's beaten a Power 5 team (besides ND), so there's that.
  11. This whole glove/position swap thing is dumb. Screw off, umps
  12. Alright, so it's an Arrieta-start dress rehearsal lineup.
  13. That looks an awful lot like a playoff dress rehearsal lineup (except that Lester and Ross will be playing Game 1).
  14. T E L E V I S I O N Is it basically just an ESPN asks so we have to give in sort of thing? Our home opener wasn't on ESPN this year, this is a CSN/WGN/whatever decision
  15. I was going to say the same thing about 'grammar school'
  16. LMFAO. I almost posted about how distasteful I found it that Carlos Martinez managed to shoehorn his murderous drunk driving horsefeathers former teammate into the Fernandez tributes Sunday night.
  17. An unforgettable sports moment. It definitely got dusty in my house watching that
  18. Not necessarily. Last year Game 1 was at, what, 5:30 ET? And that was a Friday as well. Oh, I see what you mean - Wrigleyville. Yeah, I seriously doubt that will be a consideration.
  19. Thread is gone. What was it? Someone created an account called Cardinal_Way and basically copy/pasted Duke's GIF-filled post from earlier in this thread.
  20. Awesome as it is, I definitely think we'd be laughing if STL was joyously cheering their backup catcher multiple times in a game. But whatever, I don't care.
  21. That was horsefeathering awesome
  22. Congratulations to Michigan on closing out what I can only hope is the last 5-game homestand in college football history this week

  24. I just checked Feldman's timeline and that post wasn't on it. I didn't think LSU would be that dumb.
  25. Fernandez was such a breath of fresh air to baseball. This is awful. RIP.
