  1. He was. I'm leaning towards that making this even a little funnier.
  2. So Joe Kelly threw at both Bregman and Correa, got out of the inning without any runs (he actually struck out Correa), and then trolled the Astros until they cleared their dugout. Legend move.
  3. If we can get this bullpen figured out this could be a damn good team.
  4. If you start the next inning you have to get to three total batters faced. I'm thinking this is a bad rule change. One of the main factors for instituting the 3 batter rule was to speed up the game. So now if a reliever faces one or two batters and the inning ends, he comes back out for a batter, only to probably/possibly stop the game for a pitching change when it could've been done in between innings. You can make the change between innings if you want. It's just if you don't, the 3 batter minimum holds for the pitcher you leave in.
  5. Strop coming in against us will never not be weird.
  6. I was one more bad Javy AB from mentioning he'd been bad, but uh, that was a wicked line shot.
  7. Kipnis had a really nice AB there. Like what I'm seeing from him so far
  8. Because having an entire bullpen full of bums is his fault? He did leave Kimbrel out there too long, but that's pretty garden variety "faith in your closer" stuff. It's not like Joe was any different there.
  9. Not that this season is reaching its end but man this team isn't winning horsefeathers this year with this guy closing
  10. LMAO JD knowing Kilroy Was Here but not remembering Brooks Was Here, despite liking Shawshank, is fabulously JD
  11. Dish Network? I thought they pretty much abandoned sports They most certainly did.
  12. Seems like more masking up in the dugout tonight than there was at Wrigley. Souza and Willy tattooed those doubles.
  13. If that same team happens to be tied for the best record in MLB right now, all the better for competitive integrity.
  14. That stupid home run sculpture is literally the only good thing the Marlins have ever brought to baseball.
  15. If we get this Ian Happ most of the year this team will be good. Rizzo hitting lasers
  16. I have no idea how that ball went so far based on the contact it seemed like he made
  17. Travis d'Arnaud and Tyler Flowers both have COVID symptoms, and were the only catchers on the Braves 30 man. Yeah, I just read that. I knew William would come up at some point this year for the Braves, just not this soon. I have him in a very deep fantasy keeper league and I was not expecting him in MLB at all this year.
  18. Hendricks steamrolling early. It's so great to just see Wrigley for a real game on my TV screen again
  19. It's already too late. I guarantee they will change it to that stupid thing, just like they'll add that absurd runner-on-2nd rule. The runner on second better be temporary too. I know it is weird, but one of my absolute favorite things about baseball is that a game can theoretically last forever. I have loved long extra inning games ever since I was a kid, and whenever I go to a game I am usually quietly hoping for a 15 inning marathon. Not only that, but there is something about lying in bed at 2am with the Cubs still playing long after everyone else has finished. I know I'm rambling, but this is one rule change that I just can't accept.Of all my favorite nights I've ever spent at Wrigley, the Lester walk off bunt game and the Soriano walk off slam game, both 12+ inning games, are in the top 3 (and seeing Bote's ultimate slam is the only reason they're not top 2). The idea of losing that possibility (or having it bastardized by nonsense rule changes) is depressing as hell.
  20. Yup. I think the current format is perfect. I go back and forth on the DS being 7 games instead of 5 but that's it. I'm still not a fan of the second wild card but can live with it. If it was best of 3 I'd be more for it. I just can't stand playing 162 games, and then possibly being 1 and done before the real playoffs start because the other team was able to start 2015 2nd half Arrieta. (I know, odd pointing out an example of a time that greatly benefitted us but still, doesn't sit right with me) But again, its not the worst thing ever, I just prefer it not be 1 and done. One-and-done before the real playoffs start is awesome, win your division if you don't like it, and also the idea that the ninety-damn-seven-win Cubs wouldn't have made the playoffs without a 2nd wild card alone is enough for me to support it. The only problem with the format is the problem with any format at all, and that's that the owners have managed to turn it into a reason to avoid spending money or making big trades ("Why break the bank for a coin flip?")
