    I went for the reverse jinx today and picked up Oviedo for the start. If the Cubs are going to keep sucking they'll have to benefit my fantasy team to do it.

    did the cubs have a bunch of doubleheaders in that stretch? i always thought people overstated what the cubs had to go through at the end of that season. they played a bunch of days in a row, big whoop Not many doubleheaders. I think it was 45 games in 44 days or something? Or maybe even the other way around.

    The most interesting thing about these stretches of incompetence is that you can almost tell if they don't score for like 2 innings then they're not scoring the rest of the game

    He's alright. Still a downgrade from just Len and JD (although I might just hate 3 man booths on principle), but I can deal with him being in there.

    I would say it's insane to consider since the season has technically started already but I guess that didn't stop MLB. I don't think it's happening this year, though.

    SMU vs TCU, scheduled for next Friday, has been postponed because of positive COVID tests in the TCU program.

    The Pac-12 has a deal with a company called Quidel to provide rapid-response COVID tests and are hopeful this means they can return to sports action before Jan. 1. Anecdotally, it sort of feels like things like this are why the B1G and Pac-12 should've postponed a few weeks like the SEC did. If we've learned anything in 2020, it's that things can change on a dime.

    was he? i think maybe the cubs were so good that it just took us a while to realize joe is just a typical baseball manager I would say he definitely wasn’t bad in the beginning. Not saying he was good necessarily though. You could be right though that the Cubs were good enough to cover up his flaws. He butchered Game 7 but he also out thought Bochy in Game 4 against SF to get the better hitter to the plate during the rally (can’t remember which one). Contreras was the guy he outfoxed Bochy to get up, after burning Coghlan. Occurs to me moves like that aren't really going to happen much anymore in the 3 batter age.

    Don't forget he took Kershaw deep to give us an early lead in Game 1 of the 17 NLCS. I thought for all the world we were repeating when that happened.

    I might just be wrong here, but it's possible LA didn't want to deal him to someone they might face in the playoffs. I saw a Tweet earlier today about how they were going to be looking at dealing from their depth for farm-system purposes.
