  1. Avoiding COVID was the only thing this team was good at and now they can't even do that.
  2. Not in his walk year. Yeah we have him next year as well. I imagine with so may walk year guys, they won't really shop guys controlled beyond this year except for Kimbrel. But Brothers, Trevor Williams, and Contreras are all only under contract through next season so they'd likely be available at least theoretically. Kimbrel is in his walk year too. (He might have an option.)
  3. It is in the rule book. Kulpa screwed it up. The stupid thing is, he was calling it a strike before changing course mid-call and calling it a HBP. If he knew it was a strike, why did he change the call? Just a complete brain-fart, I guess.
  4. Granted, the Pirates, but that was a spectacularly badass performance by Kimbrel. No point whatsoever in which he wasn't giving those guys swirlies and taking their lunch money.
  5. Someday Javy won't be our shortstop and we probably won't even think twice at whoever the next guy is failing to even get to a ball like that, let alone make the play as effortlessly as he just made that look.
  6. I think he beat it as well but it was so close I don't mind the uphold there.
  7. That was a really impressive swing by KB.
  8. Every indication I've gotten when connected people discuss this stuff is that we should not expect to see Bally networks on a streaming service any time soon. Bally seems to want more than the channels are worth and the streaming services are betting that the post-lockdown decline in sports ratings is a sign that people are willing to go without them if it's not for the right price. I'm not sure why Marquee was an exception for Fubo or why Sinclair was willing to make an exception for Marquee.
  9. Well this sure didn't take long. Due to Tatis' injury, I will be burning my first transaction. Drop Tatis $75 SS Add Javy Baez $75 SS
  10. Apparently he's going to Atlanta so we'll still have to see him 6 times.
  11. One of the most annoying Cubs killers of them all appears to be on the move
  12. Jon Lester was also rumored to have been unavailable had last weekend's games been played.
  13. JD alluded to Ross wanting to avoid Kimbrel tonight if possible so I'd bet we see Workman
  14. That was a badass inning by Chafin
  15. Happ was gunning for a hit. Anderson is bad at fielding.
  16. They're planning to have LA host next year.
  17. I'm with Derwood here. I love Pat and Ron, but there is a lot of ad reading going on in these games, even compared to just a handful of years ago. Is it tied to the Ricketts buying the team? I don't listen to the radio often, but the ad reads have easily tripled in the last few seasons That I couldn't guess at. There were a fair number of them in 2016 (the World Series blu-ray set edited out most of them in the Pat/Ron audio overlay feeds that were included), but not nearly to what I've noticed them being now.
  18. I didn't listen today, but I have honestly never noticed the ad reads being anything excessive. All the ads packed in behind home plate at Wrigley is much more offensive to me. I guess we're beyond the point of ads needing to be tasteful and now are just going to cram them in wherever there is open space. I'm with Derwood here. I love Pat and Ron, but there is a lot of ad reading going on in these games, even compared to just a handful of years ago.
  19. This guy is throwing nasty fastballs, but man take the damn bat off your shoulder.
  20. Hendricks riding the struggle bus against this lineup doesn't give me the warm fuzzies
  21. According to this, he had symptoms and took himself out of a game but tested negative repeatedly over the next couple of days.
  22. I'll have to do some reading on that antibody business, I don't think I'd heard that before.
  23. Sort of funny that every other Sinclair RSN is taking Marquee's bug from last year (with tweaks) while we get this far superior version.
