  1. OK, so I guess I'm just doing this? Less than 18 hours until first pitch and no thread so I'm just doing this. Baseball's back and the Cubs open up against the worst team in the division and possibly in the league. The last time Kyle Hendricks pitched on opening day he tossed a shutout. That would be cool to see again, and probably will be common against these Pirates. Win!

    Bulls '20-'21

I also just read that the pick this year is top 4 protected, so this prevents us from really getting burned if the Bulls cant make the playoffs Both of the picks are top-4 protected, apparently. This feels like a surprise - after last night's ridiculous loss to Cleveland I would've bet on another tank - but I guess with LaVine only signed one more year, AK was going to have to pick a lane pretty soon anyway, and this is the more interesting one. Kind of crazy that I was annoyed when the Bulls matched Sacramento's 4/78 offer for LaVine and now he's the cornerstone and almost certainly getting a max extension in a few months.
  4. C Gary Sanchez $100 1B Freddie Freeman $150 2B Ozzie Albies $75 3B Eugenio Suarez $200 SS Fernando Tatis Jr. $75 OF1 Cody Bellinger $200 OF2 Joey Gallo $75 OF3 Cavan Biggio $50 OF4 Ian Happ $25 DH Keston Hiura $50 Total salary $1,000 Will PM bench players
  5. Len definitely did one Q&A here. He might have bailed on a different one.
  6. File this away for the next time we're told the Cubs 'can't afford' to sign a good player they desperately need
  7. Alright, everyone make 4 or 5 posts making the completely obvious condemnation of Les Miles being a giant horsefeathers who abused his power in a disgusting way so that Jersey won't judge us
  8. It's not the most important issue coming out of this, but Kansas football continues to be FUBAR. They're not getting a coach worth a damn in March.
  9. Secondary market prices will probably be a bit higher, but I suspect the amount of people that don't want to/feel comfortable with going to a game before being vaccinated will keep things from being too out of control.
  10. I just canceled Hulu, in part because of Marquee being removed. I'm leaning toward ATT TV to get Marquee, or buying the MLB.tv package. Idk if MLB.tv applies blackout rules by your billing info or by your device location at the time of streaming. Does anyone use MLB.tv with a VPN? It uses your device location. I've never used it with a VPN, but a friend has and never reported any issues.
  11. Please let that inning be an indicator of absolutely nothing, Craig
  12. I've heard him call himself Boog, but when he opened the broadcast the other day he said Jon.
  13. Adding to what UMFan said, MLB Network is running a number of spring training broadcasts either live or on delay, so you'll probably be able to pick up several non-Marquee games that way, including tonight's against LA.
  14. Whatever you call it, that was a really pretty full-extension swing and a nice AB to get from 1-2 to 3-2 leading up to it
  15. Not that there was any reason to think otherwise, but Boog and JD sound good together.
  16. Proud card-carrying member of the Always Liked Jason Heyward club. It was depressing when he was sucking and I thoroughly enjoy not dreading his at-bats.
  17. Yeah I assume this is on the Padres. I'll never understand why teams don't heavily prioritize the first few ST games though. Like I'm sure there's some considerations I'm not thinking of, but what could they be that you'd rather air a 30 year old episode of bass masters or whatever horsfeathers RSNs typically air on Monday afternoons? Especially when no one is going to get on your case for having the broadcasters do the game remotely.
  18. Isn’t that all sorted out in market? They’re with all the providers, even streaming services, aren’t they? Out of market you still need MLB TV to watch them or Extra Innings (or whatever it’s called if your cable/dish provider has it). No, I believe it was never on YoutubeTV and Hulu dropped it after the season. I think you can rule out YTTV. Neither side seems to have any interest in a deal there. YTTV has none of their RSNs.
  19. Marquee announced today that Chris Myers, Pat Hughes and Beth Mowins will rotate filling in for Jon Sciambi when he is on ESPN duty.
  20. Take it FWIW, but one reporter (can't remember which) said that he actually had better offers and chose this one instead.
  21. Give me 1 or 2 throwback nights at Wrigley where he's got it working like 2015-16 and I really won't care much what else happens from this.
  22. Nothing sums up MLB like keeping the 2 stupid-ass rule changes from last year and not keeping the one that actually made sense.
  23. A lot less than you think. Which isn't a knock on Brady. He was smart enough to know Tampa Bay was the best situation available (certainly way better than New England) and took it. Top of my head TB, Buffalo, Miami (with all their draft and spending capital), SF, both LA teams, Baltimore, Saints, Broncos, and Indy? I'm not sure about Miami or Denver, and maybe not Indy, but all the others, yeah, there'd be a chance. And who am I to say he couldn't do it with those 3
