  1. As someone who is hoping that Mizzou by several freak occurrences makes it to a BCS game with an 8-4 record, no. :P Here's your BCS nightmare, with all the possibilities except a couple already explained in this thread: Pac-10: Oregon Big 12: Missouri Big Ten: Penn State (no offense PSU, just that Mich and OSU have more national pull) ACC: 8-4 Florida State SEC: South Carolina (Is this even possible?) Big East: South Florida (don't laugh, if USF wins out, including beating WV, this is a reality) At-larges: UCLA/USC (If UCLA beat USC and won out I can't imagine either of them getting passed up; I'm assuming further nightmarish occurrences such as ND losing one of their last two) Ouch.
  2. Vice City is awesome. Isnt that where you had to watch the stripper for 5 minutes in order to pass the mission? I daresay Jaxx is referring to the 20-year-old arcade game and not Vice City...but I could be hideously wrong.
  3. Those are Bill James projections. 21 HRs for Pie? Seriously? I'll take those numbers from Pie, Cedeno, and Murton. wow, .874 OPS. I'll say right now that if all three posted a +.800 OPS, this team would be vastly improved (assuming they actually got to play). How did James make his projections? Well, he definitely didn't project that Dusty would be the Cubs' manager. Because there is no way in hell more than one rookie busts into the lineup this season unless Pie hits .500.
  4. Don't cry Georgia fan girl, I'll comfort you. Haha just kidding. Real tough loss for the Dawgs.
  5. Big-time choke for Georgia, big break for Auburn. Lucky for the Dawgs they just need to beat UK and they'll still play LSU for the SEC title.
  6. Does Georgia have timeouts or not? What are you doing?!?!?!
  7. Wow, crazy play. Aromashodu catches a long pass, gets to the 5, fumbles, Courtney Taylor recovers for the TD. Still plenty of time for Georgia though - 1:52 left. Edit - except you can't fumble it forward...1st and goal around the 3. That's really a worse case for Georgia. Auburn can run the clock down to nothing and kick it.
  8. Yay Bulls! 3-2 heading into the west coast trip, just like I'd hoped.
  9. Duhon started after all. Bulls get their best start of the year, and lead 55-45 at halftime. Kirilenko left the game with a leg injury and his return is doubtful. The 1st quarter was the Du/Kirk show, the 2nd quarter was the Gordon/Othella show.
  10. 22-0 and 25-7 EMU leads are ERASED! BSU comes all the way back, and they're up 26-25 with 12 seconds left!!! :D :D :D Edit - Final 26-25. Such an amazing comeback. I love this team!
  11. Figured we could have one thread to focus on this year's college basketball season... ND and Ball State combined for a 3-0 record in exhibition play, which is of course not altogether surprising. The Cardinals will be led by Peyton Stovall, the leading returning scorer in the MAC this season, as well as a host of transfers (D'Andre Peyton, Chris Ames, Landon Adler, Charles Bass) and highly touted freshman Maurice Acker. ND will be led once again by Chris Quinn and Torin Francis, as well as Rob Kurz, Russell Carter and Colin Falls.
  12. Well, Ball State fumbles the ball away right off the bat to start the 2nd half. Game's pretty much over. The good news is that I can focus completely on the Bulls game in a half hour.
  13. Am I mistaken or is South freaking Carolina now the front-runner to represent the East in the SEC title game?
  14. Well, this is utterly depressing. After Ball State's defensive performance the last two weeks, giving up only 3 combined first half points in the two games, they trail EMU 19-0 at halftime, and it would be worse but for a missed 32-yard field goal at the gun. I was really hoping for a 4-game win streak to end the year.
  15. It's a VERY close call, but if I absolutely had to pick one I would pick the Bayou Bengals. I'd probably stick Bama in between LSU and Miami when it comes to 1-loss teams.
  16. I'm not sure whether you should commend Les Miles for running a double reverse in overtime or smack him upside the head for it. In any case it gained three yards. 3rd and 6...TD game, LSU.
  17. LSU wins. Never in the history of NCAA overtime have I watched a game where the first team to get the ball kicked a FG and ended up winning, and I don't think that will change here.
  18. If this LSU/Bama game goes to OT it will be riveting to watch. Ball State trails EMU 16-0 in the 2nd quarter. Figures that after dominating NIU and beating Akron that they proceed to suck it up against a team inferior to both of them.
  19. Texas Tech lost to Oklahoma State??? That ought to end the "TT is any good" conversation.
  20. Quinn hits Stovall for a TD and ties Ron Powlus's career touchdown record with 52. 35-14 Irish.
  21. Navy goes down the field and scores on their 1st possession of the half. 28-14 Irish.
  22. The Big Ten is all kinds of terrible this year... I don't think FSU would fall from the Top 25 if they lost to Clemson today. Clemson's not a terrible team, and 3-loss Michigan, who's in the Top 25, is no better than a hypothetical 3-loss Florida State.
  23. Charlie's usual halftime gems: Add "he's not bad" with a grin to describe Brady Quinn to that list. 28-7 ND at the break.
  24. Quinn to Fasano. 28-7 Irish. Under a minute left in the half.
  25. ND takes it right back down the field, Darius Walker finishes it up for the TD. 21-7 Irish.
