Yeah, that was tough to swallow. I think Sosa's OPS was 1.170-something and Bonds' was over 1.300. Too big of a gap to really consider Sosa. However, had we ended up in the postseason, I'm sure the writers would've given it to him, or at least thought about it. The 2nd-best hitter in the Giants' lineup that season was then-defending MVP Jeff Kent. The 2nd-best hitter in the Cubs' lineup was Fred McGriff, and only for half a season. In the other half of that season, the 2nd-best hitter in the Cubs lineup was Rondell White. That's why I thought Sammy deserved it.
