  1. Fresno is about to go up 14-7 over USC whether this call is overturned or not. (Ball's either in or at the 1)
  2. Of all the good teams in the ACC, if FSU somehow beats VT in the ACC title game, that conference will probably get only one bid to the BCS thanks to ND and O$U.
  3. Georgia Tech wins. Wow. Va Tech/FSU for the ACC title.
  4. aS I said before, there's a huge range in the quality of game orton could have. Most likely, he's no good and the bears lose by a significant margin. I don't think anyone is saying the bears are the favorite here. Vegas certainly isn't. When I made my NFL picks this week, I was marveling at the fact that two division leaders (Cincy and Chicago) are home dogs this week. You almost never see that this late in the season. Two division leaders as dogs, or Cincy and Chicago as those teams? :D Both! :D
  5. Miami's punt returner randomly decides to pick up the ball on the one yard line instead of letting it bounce in the endzone and the Canes end up nine yards further back. Genius move pal. Of course the Canes immediately get 13 yards so it may not matter.

  7. Or would it be a tie UCLA, USC, Oregon all 1 loss. Oregon lost to USC USC lost to UCLA With no tiebreaker between UCLA and Oregon would they tie, or would the USC game be a tiebreaker? A Possible 3 way tie? I remember Raisin saying that Oregon would have the tie breaker over both. I have no idea why, unless the Pac-10's tiebreaker is something stupid like the Big 10's system of "Whoever has gone the longest without going to the Rose Bowl gets it".
  8. Raisin, can't the Bruins still send Oregon to a Pac-10 title by beating SC next week?
  9. Props are due to George O'Leary. Last season Central Florida was the worst team in the country, and the only I-A team to go winless. This year, they went from the MAC to C-USA (an upgrade in difficulty) and stand at 7-3 (6-1) and have already clinched a berth in the first C-USA title game. Way to go George. And thanks for lying on your resume.
  10. For the record I had USC by four TDs in this game.
  11. Va Tech goes to the ACC title game.
  12. You have got to be kidding me. ....confused... Do you really not think poll bias plus the fact that ND would have ended The Streak would have pushed them into the title game? Reggie Bush had no influence on that play, Leinart would have scored anyways. That's what I was talking about. I don't agree but I won't get into it because the point is that he scored and how he got there really doesn't mean anything at this point.

  14. When they say that football is a game of inches, they are truly right. If Asaph Schwapp does not fumble the football at the goal line against MSU (or if the refs blow the play dead, as they should have, although still no excuse for Asaph), then ND probably wins that game, and we're not having this argument, as a 10-1 ND team with the only loss being the USC game would be a shoo-in. If Carr doesn't get the 2 seconds added on, PSU's probably unbeaten and beating down the door for a Rose Bowl berth. If Bush doesn't push Leinart, Texas is the only unbeaten and we have an absolute mess. (And probably a Texas/ND title game) If Miami's FG holder does not flub a snap, then the Canes are unbeaten and also beating down the door for a Rose Bowl berth. It's kind of amazing if you think about it.
  15. How did they start last year again? I'm not willing to bet on another 47-26 finish, especially not with Chandler regressing terribly. But let's hope that I'm wrong and starting Sweets will infuse some energy into the team.
  16. Ball State looked awful today in beating Oakland City 78-72. (A team that lost by 62 to Butler.) It didn't help matters that the officials were less than favorable to the Cards, that BSU couldn't hit their free throws, and that the Oaks played pretty damn well in the 2nd half. If they'd played just about any other team in Division I, this one would probably have been an L. Much improvement is needed before the next game at Wright State.
  17. In my biased opinion, the Michigan State team that beat ND was much much MUCH better than the team that lost 6 of their last 7. The problem with us scheduling MSU in September is they are always much better in that month than any other. I also find it hard to fault ND for its weak schedule when they have absolutely blown out the opponent in every one of its wins except for Michigan at the Big House, where it's pretty much impossible to dominate the Wolverines. Yes, Va Tech, Oregon and UCLA are very good teams, but Oregon lost their QB (I know it's not their fault, but they're just not as good a team without Clemens), UCLA has hit the crapper in the last month even though they have only one loss to show for it, and Va Tech had their chance to prove themselves, and got crushed by Miami at home. ND has improved throughout the season whereas these three teams have regressed. On another note, Miami has busted out those awful orange one-sleeve jerseys. When will someone tell these teams that those jerseys are AWFUL?
  18. Bears rush defense: 1st Panthers rush defense: 2nd Carolina's QB: Jake Delhomme, Mr. Clutch, 8 game winning drives in 2003, one NFC title, damn near beat possibly the best of all the Pats' 3 Super Bowl teams Chicago's QB: Kyle Orton, known for grossly overthrowing or underthrowing wide open receivers downfield, 5 INTs vs Cincinnati's D who is not much better than Carolina's if at all Yes, I'm biased, but the advantage seems to point Carolina's way.
  19. Indeed it is resolved. Thanks, Tim!
  20. So they shouldn't try to score and they should shut their offense down? You can't blame the other team. And you can't blame the team that gives up the TD either. It just happens.I don't blame anyone. It's just a mild annoyance. ND wins. One step closer to Tempe.
  21. Pet Peeve: When the other team's first-string offense scores a TD on your second-team defense to make a win look less impressive than it was. 34-10 ND.
  22. 34-3 Notre Dame. Fitzpatrick the kicker got hurt getting roughed on a FG attempt. Hope he's ok. Today's struggles aside (1 missed FG, 1 blocked FG) he's a valuable guy.
  23. It's total BS, I'll agree with you on that Derwood. FG Fitzpatrick. It's his final game at ND Stadium along with many other great ones. 24-3 Irish. Do bowl tie-ins allow the Fiesta to have 2 at-large teams? Yes, the Fiesta gets 1st and 3rd pick for their chosen teams. ND will obviously be pick number 1, and if O$U is available at number 3 (which is very likely, for reasons I am not sure of at this point) they would almost assuredly also be chosen.
  24. Reason number 5,352 why the Hammond/Haden ND on NBC tandem is the worst in the universe: They use up throwaway minutes talking about Bruno's Pizza...
  25. It's total BS, I'll agree with you on that Derwood. FG Fitzpatrick. It's his final game at ND Stadium along with many other great ones. 24-3 Irish.
