  1. Re: the Cubs comment, they were just talking again about the whole "Red Sox/White Sox/Cubs" thing.
  2. Alex Rodriguez, clutch hitter...GIDP
  3. Griffey gets rung up. :x Maybe a little off, but I don't buy Sutcliffe's objections. That's a pitch you should swing at.
  4. How have you made it this far in life without ever watching a Duke game? I've seen plenty of Duke and plenty of Syracuse, and Boeheim whines more.
  5. Boeheim is likable enough, although he probably whines about the officiating more than any college coach I've seen. He does seem very affable though, especially on his semiregular appearances on PTI.
  6. That's pretty amazing. Gotta give a lot of credit to Tim - I can't imagine he or anyone else could have imagined that this forum would one day actually become a partner with a Cubs affiliate. Congratulations all around. :D
  7. <3 Deng. 21 and 7 tonight - he is having one hell of a month. Bulls win despite a huge game from Al Harrington.
  8. Yeah, out 6-8 weeks. :(
  9. Please be right, Kerry, and we hope to see you back to the mound soon.
  10. Panthers re-sign DeShaun Foster for three years. No real bearing on the Bears, and I'm lukewarm about the signing.
  11. According to Gamenight, he was released from the hospital tonight. Very good sign.
  12. [-( I agree with Meat, we'd look like a college team.
  13. What's wrong with the Kevin Pittsnogle (big white dude with tattoos everywhere) of Syracuse?
  14. 5 years, 13 million. For a guy that hit .292/.366/.520 with 24 homers last year as a SS? Wow.
  15. There has for a long time been a clause in MLB's rulebook that players cannot use illegal substances, i.e. prohibited under the law. Anabolic steroids and most of the other PED's are illegal under the law, and therefore steroids have been illegal for a long time (I think around 1991 is when that clause was introduced). They have just done a miserable job enforcing it.
  16. I didn't realize there were people other than Cubs who suffered ST injuries. Very refreshing in a way. Best of luck to Sheets though.
  17. I went with Prior, just because sooner or later the Baseball Gods have to stop thinking of random crap to do to injure him.
  18. Not that this says too much, but I can be reasonably sure that of all the teams that could realistically get the 8 spot, Pistons fans would least prefer us to get it. I'd think we could steal one if that presented itself. Not that this will matter if they can get the 7 and play the much more beatable Heat.
  19. We really could've used that one. It was winnable. You can't be taken seriously when the two best teams in your division sweep you.
  20. doubt Louisville will make the tournament with this crappy performance. The only way they were getting in is if they won the Big East tournament. Yeah, they weren't even on the bubble. true..I think it was Digger Phelps that said a win might get Louisville in, but everyone knows that Digger Phelps is an idiot. Seton Hall, I don't think, should be getting in after the loss to Rutgers today. 4 interesting Big East games tomorrow as well as the NIU-Toledo quarterfinal matchup at 11 am :x I'll definitely be listening to a radio during the day at school tomorrow. That's ridiculous. L'ville had the same conference record as ND did and a similar non-conference schedule, right down to their best nonconference win being over an SEC team, except ND's team (Bama) was better than L'ville's (UK pre-Morris). If a win was getting Louisville in, then a win was getting ND in too. More proof that the preseason polls are stupid. If Louisville isn't ranked third to start the year then we're not having this discussion.
