  1. So am I. But that includes Memphis, and that's why I picked Raisin's Bruins to go to the title game.
  2. Everything about Gwynn was bigger at the end of his career, though... I agree with K-Town, though. There's no reason to be banning Mac and Sammy until we get something more concrete than "look at their behavior at the Congressional hearing and look at their muscles".
  3. Today's Sun-Times blurb stated that the Cubs are leaning towards another simulated game rather than him making an ST start, but they still insist he'll be ready for April 5th.
  4. Hopefully when Illinois lands a great 2007 recruiting class and they play together for two years. Even though that UNC game sucks (mostly because I think Illinois played really bad in the first half), that Arizona game is still one of my favorite all time memories of college basketball. Sadly enough, my favorite college basketball memory isn't even a post-season one - gotta go with the week in December 2002 when Notre Dame beat #10 Marquette, #5 Maryland and #2 Texas in the span of 7 days. That was outstanding.
  5. No. other than buck being a complete idiot, why wouldn't they play one of the best hitters on the team in this, such a pivitol game? There is really no other reason. But hopefully today's performance convinced him to play DLee at first from now on, and to hell with spreading around the PT.
  6. I'm You Just Got Pittsnogled. (I'm buying that shirt if he somehow ends up on the Bulls after the draft) And I have three Big East teams in the Final Four, which I'm sure I'll regret, but I'm sticking with my guns.
  7. To tie the game, Tex would have to break his 0-12 streak...
  8. If DLee doesn't play every inning of every game for the rest of this WBC...
  9. No DLee in the lineup today. :(
  10. I severely doubt anyone's beating UConn in the tournament this year.
  11. On a related note, Chad Cordero was 2-4 last year. What a useless pitcher.
  12. The bottom 4 teams in the Big East are worse than any of the 11 in the Big Ten. Rutgers is worse than everyone but Purdue. That's why the Big 10 is a better conference. Inside sources tell me that DePaul beat 5-seed Syracuse by over 30 points just two weeks ago. I'd wager that Purdue can't beat anyone in the Big Ten, and probably not anyone in the major conferences outside the basement teams, by that much even on their very best day. And St. John's and Providence are no slouches either. Of course, since these conferences don't tangle that much, we can really just throw around numbers. The Big 10 went 6-4 against the Big East this year 6 wins: Illinois over Rutgers Illinois over Georgetown Michigan over ND Michigan over USF Northwestern over Seton Hall Wisconsin over Marquette 4 losses: UConn over IU DePaul over Northwestern Pitt over Penn St Pitt over Wisconsin Most of those games went exactly how they should. The Big Ten went 3-2 in the 5 games between teams of relatively equal strength (in italics). Personally, I'll stick with the Big East because of UConn and Nova...but to each their own.
  13. The Big Ten is not the number 1 conference in America. Absolutely no reasonable analyst disagrees that the Big East is. Cincy goes from a 7 seed to out. ND, IMO, was a better team this year than last and yet they finish 12th in the Big East whereas they were 6th last year. Plus the Big East has two 1 seeds.
  14. This one won't be on TV live but will air on tape delay at midnight on ESPN2. Go USA! We need this one real bad.
  15. It's not just that Illinois got screwed into a 4 while Tennesee got a 2, but also that Illinois's potential 2nd-round matchup with Washington will be a bona fide home game for the Huskies. This same thing happened with my Irish in 2003 when the committee made Illinois a 4 and ND a 5 in the same pod in Indianapolis. That was more unintentional, but the crowd in that game was very partisan for ND. This also happened to 4-seed BC, who is likely to be playing 5-seed Nevada in Salt Lake in the 2nd round. Oops. Boom. Right on the head. Cuse a 5? Florida a 3? IU a 6? Ridiculous.
  16. I have to agree. There is no possible way you guys should be seeded behind Florida, Tennessee, or Iowa at the least.
  17. As would I. So everyone Facebook me. :D (Andy Roberts at BSU)
  18. They did. :) I get to see Chris Quinn, Rick Cornett, and Torin Francis play at least one more game in an Irish uniform...
  19. It is exactly Walker's headstrong nature that will get him booted out of here. Not that I blame him. If I was being told that I had to compete with Neifi Perez and Jerry Hairston after the two years that Todd has had, I'd be a little bitter myself.
  20. ND has a date with Vanderbilt in the NIT's 1st round on Wednesday night. A win likely sets up a rematch with Michigan, who dealt the Irish their first of many heartbreaking defeats this year back in December. Hope ESPN picks it up...
  21. Personally, I'd prefer Prior take an extra week off to start the season rather than start a game when he can only throw 80 pitches. Get to full strength and then come back.
  22. I'm hearing an echo on TV. For effect? :P
  23. DLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
