  1. Sweet 16 team number 2 down. UWM simply can't handle the Gators' inside game.
  2. Panthers down 8, but the Gators can't stay this hot forever.
  3. Fair assessment. I know that Tennessee is overrated at number 2. But I am honestly asking, is that still considered impressive if WSU does beat Tennessee? Just honestly asking. Any time a mid-major reaches the Sweet 16, it's a great accomplishment. UWM is hanging in against the Gators, down by 4 despie a few questionable calls in Florida's favor.
  4. No one's saying the MVC didn't deserve all the bids it got. But Seton Hall is really not a very good team at all. ND beat them, and beat them soundly, in their own place. Bradley over Kansas was impressive, but don't tout Wichita State over SHU as the reason the MVC is a strong conference, because the Pirates impressed few. How they got as high as 7th in the Big East is beyond me.
  5. Duke's got this one in the bag. Next up: UWM and Tennessee! (I hope)
  6. The officiating has been terrible on both sides. I am not even paying attention the whole time and I am seeing many, many shots that are put up with hard contact but no call. Shelden Williams in particular is getting away with a lot.
  7. My favorite year: 2003. I had 12 seed Butler going to the Sweet 16, ND in the Sweet 16, Syracuse in the final game, and if not for a miracle shot by Drew Nicholas, I would've called a UNC-Wilmington over Maryland upset. I won my pool that year, and my only blunder was picking UK to win it all before they ran into the Dwyane Wade Buzz Saw. However, I was nearly perfect up until the Elite 8 that year.
  8. I sit at 24-8, with one Sweet 16 team gone (Cal) and nothing further. Today: Duke UW-Milwaukee (Come on Panthers) Tennessee Illinois BC LSU UCLA Indiana
  9. I have yet to pick a 1, 2, or 3 to lose. Probably won't ever happen either. I believe I picked a 4-13 upset one time and it didn't come even close to happening. I usually stick to prying 5-12s and 6-11s (the latter turned out to be my specialty as I went 4-0 in those games; however I went 1-3 in 5-12s, I always struggle with them). However, I appreciate the help getting Pitt into the Sweet 16, Bradley. Just don't screw it up by actually beating them. :-P
  10. Typical Mizzou class. :?: You expected a "nice effort, kU" post? And sorry swetepeteman, I should've said low seed rather than crappy. No, I got exactly what I expected. A fan of a program so bad, they can only celebrate other peoples' failures. Right, like you kU guys don't root against Mizzou. Don't be mad at me for being happy that your team got embarrassed in the NCAA Tourney again. I rarely celebrate it publicly, and when I do, it's in response to lame Missouri smack. Whatever. I'm just in a Crap mood right now. I remember when ND almost went down to UW-Milwaukee in the first round three years ago, I walked around in a daze for about a half hour. I can only imagine how p.o.ed I'd have been if they'd lost, so I feel for you.
  11. After the first round: 24-8 Tied for 2nd in the NSBB Pick Em bracket. 4th in the NSBB Facebook pool. Only one Sweet 16 team gone. This is probably my best first round showing in at least three years. (Not saying much)
  12. There are always some people with perfect brackets after the first round. After the Sweet 16 is usually when all the perfectos are off the board.
  13. You could never get anyone to admit it, but I bet there's a whole horde of mid-major coaches who pray they draw Kansas in the first round every year. :D
  14. BRADLEY! Say goodbye to the Jayhawks again!
  15. On the drive? Absolutely. But Duke's the only one who get calls.
  16. Quakers fading. Looks like UNC will hold on. Bradley now up only three.
  17. Penn and Murray down 1. Bradley up THIRTEEN!
  18. Oh trust me, I fervently dislike the Heels. All things being equal I'd be going against them. But I have them in the Elite 8 so they can't blow a first-round game. Especially with Murray's leading scorer on the sidelines with a broken bone.
  19. Still all three underdogs hanging right in. This is really intriguing stuff.
  20. What happened? Kansas had the ball, the guy lost it, went out of bounds with 4.4 seconds left, Will Franklin inbounded it, had it passed back to him immediately moved down the floor and hit a three from between half court line and the three point line (Bradley's, not Kansas' side of the court) at the buzzer, putting BU up by ten. Excellent. I have KU out to Pitt so I'm rooting for you guys. Also for Penn. Murray St, not so much.
  21. What happened?
  22. All 3 double-digit seeds are winning at half
  23. Bradley, Penn and Murray St are all within 2 or 3 at this point. Go Braves and Quakers!
  24. Major props to your guys, they scared the living crap out of me. Hope my school returns to the tournament soon, we haven't been since 2000.
  25. Freakin' St. Patty's Day uniforms. I haven't seen them look good on any team yet.
