  1. Never heard that before. Is that why they did the same thing Holtz's first year? I dunno, that was before my time. Also, some Spartan fans would bet their lives that ND flag planted during one of the last two wins in East Lansing(I don't remember which one), but no pictures of it have been found, just accounts from people at the game. Yea I have heard that ND did too. However there is no proof of it, and you would think that there would be. That is not something that is easily missed by cameras. I really think that is just MSU trying to make excuses for why that acted so classless last year. I really hope ND doesn't do that this Saturday after they win. :D Be careful. I read some bold ND predictions last week as well.
  2. Chicago (-3) over MINNESOTA PITTSBURGH (-2) over Cincinnati BUFFALO (-5.5) over NY Jets Carolina (-3) over TAMPA BAY (No matter how bad my team has looked in the first 2 weeks, they haven't looked half as bad as Mr. Chris Simms) Green Bay (+7) over DETROIT Washington (-4) over HOUSTON INDIANAPOLIS (-7) over Jacksonville MIAMI (-10.5) over Tennessee Baltimore (-6.5) over CLEVELAND St. Louis (+4.5) over ARIZONA Philadelphia (-6) over SAN FRANCISCO NY Giants (+3.5) over SEATTLE NEW ENGLAND (-7) over Denver Atlanta (-3.5) over NEW ORLEANS
  3. NDNation's weekly predictor has picked MSU to win...that's the first time since I began reading the site last fall that he's picked an Irish loss to my recollection.
  4. Memberlist --> Select Sort Method: Total Posts --> Order: Descending Same thing...it starts at 999 and goes down based on the number it starts with rather than total post count. I get the same thing. My guess is that it may be related to the search function being disabled. It's as though the number of posts is being interpreted as text rather than numeric, and it's ordered based on the first digit of the number of posts regardless of how many total digits there are. Go into the normal user interface and not the Premium interface. Then do what TT said to do. Aahhh, ok. Thanks. I rank 30th, it appears.
  5. TT, Alex Knipp intercepted Curtis Painter in the Purdue game last week for his second pick of the year. Just read that in today's school paper.
  6. I think DLee and Ramirez (should he be back) will be just as or more important to next year's team than Prior, even if he's healthy.

  8. Interestingly, Holtz made the guarantee when he arrived at ND that they'd never lose to a military academy on his watch. (The claim was mostly made thanks to Gerry Faust's 1-4 record against Air Force.) He almost made good on the guarantee, until the Irish lost to Air Force in overtime in his final season.
  9. How does one get the measuring of who has the most posts? Every time I try it, I get a list of people with the most 9's in their post count...
  10. Yeah, I remember he had such a great year to help us to the playoffs in 2003, then announced his retirement after the season. It was a real surprise. We wish him well though.
  11. Just wondering what people think it would be fair to demand in a trade for Drew Brees. I have him as my backup QB in the NSBB league, but backing up Peyton Manning, I hear, is not a very promising career choice. Some weisenheimer offered me Jake Delhomme for him ( :P ), but I know that's too little. What should I ask for?
  12. All the games that were marked TBA have been updated with times. Apparently, there's a rumor going around per the Sun-Times that Charlie Weis said that "we will never lose again to Michigan State on my watch" at an alumni function this summer. John L. Smith has said he heard about it but Weis isn't talking.
  13. LOL..most of this has been happening already. This is the 4th time this month that the Blanco/Cedeno/Soto combination has been the bottom of the order. Now, Murton batting 4th-I don't think is that usual-it's usually been 5th. Though, I can understand why people have been taking time off from the team-it's certainly been well deserved after this year's team :D Murton is only hitting fourth because we're facing a lefty and starting the OWNED triplets at the bottom.
  14. Who'd have thought a month ago that this game would be a matchup of winless teams? Depressing. Chris Gamble...try not to pull any stupid lateral crap when your team is in complete control of the game this week. Thank you. If Carolina loses this I'll be inconsolable.
  15. 16. My lock of the week is whoever I pick in Survival Football, I guess.
  17. It was actually funny, because I didn't hear the penalty called on ND. I heard block in the back and just assumed it was on Michigan, and I laughed because the flag was thrown from 30 yards up the field, so I figured the refs were trying to lessen the ridiculous penalty differential in the game to that point (I think Michigan had 1 penalty and ND had 6 or something). It wasn't until I got home and watched the tape that I saw they'd called it on the Irish. I didn't realize kicking teams could "block" in the back.
  18. Casey Clausen will also win 3 Heisman's, or at least Beno Cook will say so. I will never bet on ND over Michigan State. Pretty impossible considering Casey exhausted his college eligiblity six years ago. Although I'm not sure why Truffle is so positive either, to be fair, the Irish have won the last two in East Lansing. Because ND looked flat at home and Truffle doesn't think Weis will allow them to come out flat again? Most of the time I'd agree completely, but Weis was - I don't want to say out-coached, because his team was down by 20 before the offense could really even get into a rhythm - but he had far from his best day, and I would think that Michigan would be high up on the list of games to not allow something like that to happen in.
  19. Didn't the Cubs have a tentative 06 schedule out almost as soon as 2005 ended? I seem to remember being surprised at how quickly it came out.
  20. I remember that game. The timekeeping "mistake" was pretty blatant, but what a finish. That was also the year MSU was actually good from beginning to end and beat Florida in the Citrus Bowl if I remember correctly.

  22. Let's just not have this happen.
  23. I don't expect anyone to take this seriously because it's from an ND outlet and obviously it didn't have any impact on the outcome of the game, but I agree fully with this paragraph, and it hasn't just been the Michigan game.
  24. Apparently, some brilliant voter at the Charlotte Observer mailed in his poll from last week by accident. They re-did the poll, and BC is now 20 by themselves, Cal is 21, and ASU is 22. (Previously, BC and ASU were tied at 20, and Cal was 22.)
  25. Are you sure it's a PPR league? He's right, it could be that it's only receiving yards and not catches, and that you got 6 for the TD, instead of the catches.
