  1. What does Boise State have anything to do with this game? Really? They won their most famous game by the same score, same ballsy 2 point conversion call, and their biggest rival just happened to do the same thing on its field? I think there's some symmetry here. They're playing on Boise State's home field? Um, yeah. The Humantarian Bowl is held in Boise State's stadium on the smurf turf.

Not as big an upset or a stage, obviously, but Idaho's been a doormat for years.
  3. Boise State over OU was 43-42 as well. That's some poetry right there.
  4. I'd rather try to move Hinrich or even Deng in a move for expirings. Unloading those guys for McGrady doesn't really improve our cap situation does it? Unless Salmons is really serious about not exercising his opt out...in which case I would be threatening him with a ton of DNP-CDs in 2010-2011.
  5. Hoho, Adrian Wojnarowski puts Forman on blast and gives a half hearted defense to VDN: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AlyKl7lOE0XQeQv7Je1TpW28vLYF?slug=aw-formanbulls123009&prov=yhoo&type=lgns Good stuff.
  6. Pretty hilarious implosion by Temple against UCLA. First they throw a pick six to a UCLA DE on their own goal line and now their long snapper snapped the ball about 10 feet too high and caused a safety.
  7. Agreed. San Diego has similar problems with the Bears in that their passing game is way better than their running game. Obviously, San Diego is a better team, but the point is that late in games, Rivers will try to make a big play on 1st down when the opposing team figures they will run the ball to run some clock. They know the running game is bad when the defense doesn't know they are running the ball, so what would be the point of running it when they basically assume you are running it. Time and again, Rivers exposes the defense with those types of plays. In fairness, the final touchdown pass in overtime is exactly what I'm referring to. They were almost in field goal range to begin with, and the defense was probably counting on another running play or a short 1st down type of pass, which allowed for DA to have a one on one opportunity. The one thing about Turner's playbook has always been its transparency. There just aren't enough smart gambles in there. San Diego goes for the big play on all downs from all points on the field at nearly every situation in the game. It's quite effective too. They also have gigantic receivers and a great deep ball throwing QB.
  8. Yeah, the turf at Soldier is a joke. There was one play on the drive where the Vikings tied it up to force OT where G. Adams (who finally showed some things last night) blew past McKinnie on the edge and was going to light up Favre but he fell coming around the corner. Tons of guys just slipping up.
  9. I was gonna say he looked like every guy I bought weed from in college.
  10. Really you should just stop watching football period if you are still angsty about what Cutler did tonight. You are doing it wrong. I'm still angsty about Cutler being terrible this year. The good thing about him being so bad this year is that next year people will have totally forgotten that the idea in giving up so much to get him was for him to be elite and not merely good for 4 games out of the season.
  11. You're just not watching a lot of NFL games if you think Cutler was GREAT tonight. He was good. Go through a game log of Rivers, Manning, Rodgers, or Brees some time. They play better than Cutler did tonight...routinely. I guess it's a semantic thing though. He's still been hot garbage most of the year.
  12. He was 1/3 on connecting passes where Antoine Winfield was completely dusted. Whoopty doo. He had a GREAT game, its ok you can admit it. He was good, not great. I've seen dozens of better quarterback performances this season (including one by the opposing QB tonight). Manning, Brees, Rivers, and Rodgers have each had at least half a dozen performances that were better than Cutler's tonight.
  13. He was 1/3 on connecting passes where Antoine Winfield was completely dusted. Whoopty doo.
  14. I guess some positives from the end of the season is that Aromashadu looks legit, Bell looks like he can be an adequate backup, and Williams showed some flashes.
  15. God Forte is just crap.
  16. This is a good point.
  17. And that's why you want big receivers.
  18. Adams is showing some good burst off the edge at least. Looks strictly like a situational rusher though...he'd get blasted at the point of attack.
  19. Cutler's [expletive] brain dead.
  20. I don't see anything particularly unreasonable about that. Traveling around the country, scouting players, and selling them on your program vs. rest and close consultation with doctors is a fairly big difference. Where's the advantage to the Gators for him to do that? From a pure football standpoint I don't see much to gain from him doing this so it seems incredibly stupid for someone to impugn him for taking some time off for a legit medical condition. If Meyer had been running a middling SEC program for the last few years no one would any where would have a problem with it.
  21. Who's ever heard of a team leaking that its head coach has been fired without any idea who the replacement will be?
  22. It isn't. Think of the Saints as the Cubs. They're toast. They're banged up. They missed a chip shot field goal. The Saints are fine. I do think they need to run it a little more though...why do they ignore Pierre Thomas? Did he get hurt?
  23. That seems premature.
  24. The Curse of John Carney.
  25. Big Ben lead the league in sacks last year, I would call him a great QB roethlisberger has taken 182 sacks since 2006... peyton manning has taken 59. And? It means all the excuse making for Cutler being horrible this year is at least a little misplaced.
