    I guess some positives from the end of the season is that Aromashadu looks legit, Bell looks like he can be an adequate backup, and Williams showed some flashes.

    Adams is showing some good burst off the edge at least. Looks strictly like a situational rusher though...he'd get blasted at the point of attack.

    I don't see anything particularly unreasonable about that. Traveling around the country, scouting players, and selling them on your program vs. rest and close consultation with doctors is a fairly big difference. Where's the advantage to the Gators for him to do that? From a pure football standpoint I don't see much to gain from him doing this so it seems incredibly stupid for someone to impugn him for taking some time off for a legit medical condition. If Meyer had been running a middling SEC program for the last few years no one would any where would have a problem with it.

    Who's ever heard of a team leaking that its head coach has been fired without any idea who the replacement will be?

    It isn't. Think of the Saints as the Cubs. They're toast. They're banged up. They missed a chip shot field goal. The Saints are fine. I do think they need to run it a little more though...why do they ignore Pierre Thomas? Did he get hurt?

    Big Ben lead the league in sacks last year, I would call him a great QB roethlisberger has taken 182 sacks since 2006... peyton manning has taken 59. And? It means all the excuse making for Cutler being horrible this year is at least a little misplaced.

    HOLY CRAP Just heard on the Pitt/UNC game that Meyer is stepping down from Florida.

    I'd say you're like 80% right there. Angelo did get a lot of talent outside of the skill positions in building up the 05 and 06 teams (you don't get that sort of insane special teams and defensive production without really, really gifted athletes) but failed to replace them when age and attrition set in. The offensive coaching and lack of offensive play makers all falls on Angelo and now the defensive/ST aren't there to hide it.

    Now I'm scared that Salmons will continue to be so awful that he'll have to opt in and try to rebuild his value next year. This guy is the anti Erick Dampier.

    I have a hard time believing we can afford Boozer and Johnson. Then again I don't really know anything about the cap. My understanding is is that if Salmons opted out and Tyrus leaves there will be enough money for one max free agent and not much else.

    It really is a stunning choke job. You could probably hold on to win with a 35 point lead with ~8 minutes in the 3rd quarter by holding on to the ball or just passing it around the perimeter until the shot clock expires.
