  1. It could be worse. Last year it seemed like the Browns were on primetime a bunch. I'm sure that's how people feel about seeing the Bears on so many primetime games this season.
  2. Nothing publicly that I've heard. I'm just saying the line exists. I think it's probably short of rape or murder.
  3. There's no line of behavior that a player could cross that would make having him back out of the question? That can't be right.
  4. Hester hasn't done anything in 2 months.
  5. It's not hard to tell the receivers are pretty much an abomination. Maybe they have potential but they're pretty awful as a group right now. There isn't an elite athlete in the bunch. Hester and Knox can fly but they're midgets. Aromoshadu is probably the best combination of size and speed but who knows about him really. I haven't been impressed with Bennett. He's not physical at all. There surely isn't a receiver on the roster who would crack the starting lineup of any team that has a good passing attack. How many times have the receivers caught a ball in traffic? How many times have they cut off routes that led to incompletions or picks? Can you recall a play where a receiver threw a good block downfield to spring a big run? These things just haven't happened. It's a cliche but there aren't any guys making plays. The line sucks. The run blocking more than the pass blocking. And some (most?) of the problems can be attributed to Turner and a lack of coaching for Cutler but the receivers have been horrific as well. Watch an Eagles, Steelers, or Packers game...those guys aren't protected any better than Jay. But they're good QBs, mobile, and they have receivers that other teams actually fear. It makes a huge difference.
  6. The Knicks set an NBA record by attempting 29 threes in the first half. The game record is 48.
  7. offensive line without question. There are no receiver stars, but there are a couple guys capable of being solid 2s. The line is completely inept. I will not debate this. No need to debate it, either. It really is self-evident. It's self evident that the Bears have one of the worst receiving groups in the league too. So I think there's some debate over what unit is worse. It's clear that the Bears have one of the worst RUN blocking units in the league (and a tentative back to make things worse) but there are plenty of teams that pass protect just as bad or worse than the Bears. The Packers have a very effective passing game with pass protection that is a lot worse than the Bears. They also have very good receivers.
  8. Sweet, we're getting run off the floor by the Knicks.
  9. I guess we can hold out hope that the Bears management will have a change of heart and start throwing around gobs of money in a potentially uncapped year. Jackson or Marshall would be god sends. Mankins too.
  10. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/wr The Bears don't have a single receiver that is league average. That's horrible.
  11. The receivers are the worst unit on the team.
  12. That doesn't sound good.
  13. I don't think Locker would've been a top 5 pick when the evaluations really started on him. He's more of an athlete than a QB at this point. He definitely could use another year.
  14. I didn't say Self did pay him money, I am just saying I wouldn't have felt comfortable had Weber beat out Cal for his services. Obviously there was some stuff that would make KU more appealing to Henry, but you said we would have creamed ourselves over a Henry visit. I actually would have been worried about what Weber was doing. The only one who I think got paid was Collins. Actually he said you would've jizzed on each other's faces. It was quite poetic.
  15. Northwestern State (#14) vs. Iowa (#3) in the first round of the 2006 tourney was an amazing game with an awesome finish. I loved the 30 foot bomb that that Vermont dude dropped on Cuse in 2005 too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBFFJb9KSdc&feature=related
  16. Blah, winnable game. Effort was there finally. John Salmons is worthless. Pargo is worthless. Rose is too floater dependent and misses way too many gimmes but otherwise is on the right track. Live by the long two, die by the long two.
  17. Wow, Noah with a double double (8 offensive rebounds!) and 4 blocks at the half.
  18. James Johnson is a complete non entity. I don't think I've ever seen a player make less of an impact on a game while they're on the floor. He's just...there.
  19. Ok Kobe's going off. And Rose is hurt. I'll just root for Kobe to score 70 and end the VDN era.
  20. Is Neil Funk actually [expletive]? Rose is clearly grimacing, clutching his side, and laboring up the court and Funk doesn't mention it. What the hell is this guy looking at when he's calling games?
  21. I'm sure the Titans/Rams Super Bowl wasn't on there because it was the 1999 season.
  22. I don't know, have Asian guys started dating white women in large numbers?
  23. It was the best regular season game of the decade between two teams ranked really high. Back and forth all game with an amazing finish. And the regular season of college football is a quasi-playoff game (BCS still sucks). I think college football has the most games of any sport where you could make an argument for being on that list.
  24. Games 2 or 3 of the 2005 World Series, maybe. No one really cared about that series though. Heh, if it had been the Cubs breaking the curse one of them would've been on there for sure. Game 6 of the Boston/Chi series, as a pure game was amazing, but no first round game was gonna get on there.
  25. If Watson had won the British it would've been bigger. The only golf tournament that probably approaches those two would've been Mickelson's first major victory in the Masters. That was a huge deal at the time.
