  1. I didn't say Self did pay him money, I am just saying I wouldn't have felt comfortable had Weber beat out Cal for his services. Obviously there was some stuff that would make KU more appealing to Henry, but you said we would have creamed ourselves over a Henry visit. I actually would have been worried about what Weber was doing. The only one who I think got paid was Collins. Actually he said you would've jizzed on each other's faces. It was quite poetic.
  2. Northwestern State (#14) vs. Iowa (#3) in the first round of the 2006 tourney was an amazing game with an awesome finish. I loved the 30 foot bomb that that Vermont dude dropped on Cuse in 2005 too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBFFJb9KSdc&feature=related
  3. Blah, winnable game. Effort was there finally. John Salmons is worthless. Pargo is worthless. Rose is too floater dependent and misses way too many gimmes but otherwise is on the right track. Live by the long two, die by the long two.
  4. Wow, Noah with a double double (8 offensive rebounds!) and 4 blocks at the half.
  5. James Johnson is a complete non entity. I don't think I've ever seen a player make less of an impact on a game while they're on the floor. He's just...there.
  6. Ok Kobe's going off. And Rose is hurt. I'll just root for Kobe to score 70 and end the VDN era.
  7. Is Neil Funk actually [expletive]? Rose is clearly grimacing, clutching his side, and laboring up the court and Funk doesn't mention it. What the hell is this guy looking at when he's calling games?
  8. I'm sure the Titans/Rams Super Bowl wasn't on there because it was the 1999 season.
  9. I don't know, have Asian guys started dating white women in large numbers?
  10. It was the best regular season game of the decade between two teams ranked really high. Back and forth all game with an amazing finish. And the regular season of college football is a quasi-playoff game (BCS still sucks). I think college football has the most games of any sport where you could make an argument for being on that list.
  11. Games 2 or 3 of the 2005 World Series, maybe. No one really cared about that series though. Heh, if it had been the Cubs breaking the curse one of them would've been on there for sure. Game 6 of the Boston/Chi series, as a pure game was amazing, but no first round game was gonna get on there.
  12. If Watson had won the British it would've been bigger. The only golf tournament that probably approaches those two would've been Mickelson's first major victory in the Masters. That was a huge deal at the time.
  13. Ohh yeah. That's an oversight for sure. I'm going to watch all of these games on YouTube.
  14. http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/rank?versionId=1&listId=440 Pretty good list I think. My biggest disagreement would be putting in the 100 meter butterfly over the 4x100 freestyle relay with the monster Jason Lezac comeback on the final leg. But I guess that wasn't Phelpsy enough. Best: 2007 Fiesta Bowl. This game still boggles my mind.
  15. I'm sure she shares in the frustration too but I don't see where she explicitly said that she was frustrated by Tiger going with a bunch of white women. There was no way a black woman was going to write a column saying that black women are mad at Tiger for marrying a white woman and then cheating with a bunch of white women without having that label of frustration slapped on herself (maybe if she were publicly gay, even then I doubt it). I don't know anything about her so maybe she does have a history of writing columns that play the race card or are just downright racist. I think what she did write in this instance was fair game.
  16. She didn't just point it out. She said that he shouldn't have married a white woman. Well sort of. She explicitly says that she shouldn't have married a nanny and a part time model who was introduced to him by another golfer. I wouldn't disagree that it definitely smacks of her being mad that he married a white woman. I just don't think it's particurlarly race baiting to say that some black women are annoyed that successful black men marry white women. That sentiment definitely exists.
  17. There's nothing racist about a black columnist pointing out that many black women are annoyed (even pissed) that Tiger Woods married a white woman and cheated with a bunch of other white women.
  18. Seems like it's much ado about nothing. I think it's well within the realm of plausibility that Tiger used the guy for just platelet therapy on his knee. Although I wouldn't be shocked if he were on something else too.
  19. And let's not forget the top 5-10 draft busts in Fizer, Crawford, Williams (remember this guy?), Curry, and Chandler.
  20. The Ben Wallace signing was stupid the moment it happened. I don't think it was unanimously loved. It was basically a move that reinforced what the Bulls were already very good at and made their weaknesses more glaring. Horrible signing at the time. There are some good things in that list. Mostly crappy. I did like those Skiles teams at the time because it really was pure hustle and scrap but you knew they weren't legit contenders. And this years team has basically sapped me of all optimism generated by the Boston series. Your list also excluded the 2000 free agent class when the Bulls were way under the cap and targeting Duncan, McGrady, and Hill and we ended up with Ron Mercer.
  21. Ingram isn't even top 10 worst Heisman winners of all time. There's at least a dozen system quarterbacks who were worse.
  22. 2007 was pretty disappointing. I honestly thought that team was "loaded."
  23. I'm pretty sure Cutler doesn't know how to change protections either.
  24. Brandon Marshall has 20 receptions.
  25. The protection was there jackass. Step up in the pocket and show some freaking poise.
