  1. He's not elite, but he's solid. They've taken it slow with him as he's had injury issues in college. You're right, he probably winds up in the pen. But he IS an actual prospect, much different than Rollins.
  2. Billingsley's MRI came back clean. I'm pretty sure they just DL'd him to get an extra reliever up for a week or so, since they can retro Billingsley's time back to his last outing before the ASB.
  3. Delgado is my absolute favorite one for one, pie in the sky, possibikity for Dempster. I'd want more than just Minor. Love Eovaldi, would prefer Rubby, injury and all.
  4. Wojciechowski would easily be in our top 15 right now.
  5. The Nationals are in now apparently. Do the Nats have anything of value after the Gio trade? Alex Meyer. But I can't see them giving him up for a rental. Ross Detwiler?
  6. Not a prospect anymore, but just saw that thru 70 games, Mike Trout has a 5.3 fWAR. Mother of God.
  7. No clue why, but they said before the game he was just going to get 3 at bats.
  8. I'll put this here, since the Jays are supposedly in on him, but Travis Snider was pulled tonight in AAA. Doubt it's anything to do with Garza, but who the hell knows?
  9. He's been pitching great. With the option on next year, he could bring back a fairly solid return. Hell, maybe HE could bring in a borderline top 10 guy from an averagish system. Or a draft pick from someone.
  10. Eovaldi or Rubby would be unreal. Hopefully, it's not Fife. My guess is they want Tolleson included, which would be fine. Just not as the lead piece.
  11. Damnit, I'm hoping ABTY was right and Braves had a "winning" type offer and we're trying to appease Dempster in getting him to the Dodgers, if they move theirs up.
  12. The minor league thread here is what got me to change sites a few years back. It's such an important part of an organization and way too many still don't get it.
  13. From a talent standpoint, I like Reed a ton. But he was a reliever in college and the Dodgers are trying to turn him into a starter. But despite low pitch counts from them, he's alrwady been on the DL twice this year with shoulder problems.
  14. I would LOVE Gould and Martin. Same here. In fact, I think I'd take Martin over Reed, if I had to.
  15. Threw the bat at the pitcher, grabbed his nuts, and let out a Ric Flair Whooooooooo.
  16. Blackburn gave up 2 hits, a walk, and a run in the 1st.
  17. Dodgets are a great trading partner for Dempster. Any of Chris Reed, Allen Webster, and Garrett Gould immediately become our best pitching prospect. All 3 of those guys are top 150ish guys. Ofman just tweeted price may have gone up from Gould and Chris Withrow, by the way. Withrow or Ethan Martin would both be a very solid second piece. Both throw hard, have some control issues, but loads of talent. Each were 1st rounders, for those that may care about that stuff.
  18. On cell, so can't link, but Levine just posted article saying Dodgers make offer for Dempster. Cubs making contingency plans, in case Dempster isn't here for weekend.
  19. No upside, non prospect, slappy ass Matt Szczur is 3-3, with a triple and a steal.
  20. Pierce Johnson is the only pitcher I currently have in the Cubs top 10. He's definitely ahead of Paniagua, as are Cabrera (reliever), Blackburn, Rosario if moderately healthy, Underwood, Maples and maybe even Whitenack. Man, Theo and co have added quite a few high ceiling arms in the past couple of months - Pierce Jackson, Nick Blackburn, Duane Underwood and now Paniagua. I kind of think this year's draft is the future plan as well: Elite, safer hitter in the 1st round, followed by a group of high upside arms.
  21. He'd be in Daytona for sure if Hendry were still here. I love the fact we bring these guys in slower. I hope he stays in Peoria all year personally. To work on plate discipline, if nothing else. Starting to think he may be s top 20 guy by the end of the year though.
  22. He did just answer my question and said he probably doesn't pitch until 2013.
  23. no, because we also drafted Pierce Johnson, Blackburn, and Underwood. Hell, if Rosario's arm didn't fall off last night, I'd probably have him ahead of Maples too.
