If it's Detroit, I'd take Crosby over Smyly. Upside is higher. Yeah, the floor is lower too obviously, but I think I'd go that route. And I'm not sure I wouldn't take him over Gould and Withrow. It's a tossup for me. Crosby has the higher upside and is closer to the majors, not to mention being a hard throwing lefty helps his cause too. Gould is projectable, but seems much more like an eventual 3/4 than a potential frontline guy, which Crosby has the potential to become. But his injury history is a red flag. So on most prospect lists, these two guys seem to both show up in the 150ish range. Rightfully so, for varying things. If these are the guys, I'd be happy with the trade. Solid return for half a season of Dempster.
