  1. which of them do you like better? who else should we want? Graham. He'd possibly be top 10 in our system. Spruill probably top 15ish. Graham's had the better season. Cody Martin is an interesting guy too for them, although he's really old for his level. But he's been listed as a breakout type.
  2. Too many things going on. Was Baker giving the hugs too? Thought I saw that somewhere, but no one's mentioning it on Twitter.
  3. By the way, Graham and Spruill would be a very solid return.
  4. No way Delgado comes back for Maholm. Please, please, please, please.......
  5. I'm happy with Graham and Spruill. No way in hell Delgado.
  6. What the [expletive] is going on? Oh, and Not the Momma was [expletive] awesome.
  7. Neil Ramirez is currently broke, but I'd take him to fix, in a deal for Soto.
  8. Theo:(in Russell Crowe-Gladiator voice) At my command, unleash hell!
  9. Yeah, they had a guy, Assman22,(Seinfeld reference or Billy Gunn fan, presumably) that's taken Marlin's stuff and put it over there before. If that's who it is, he took it from PSD. As far as Marlin goes, he's excellent.
  10. Sniped. I think I've asked him that in 5-6 different forms in the last week. Sure enough, he answered it as soon as I asked. I didn't even bother looking for 30 minutes or so. By the way, I'm hoping the reason we're hearing nothing on this is because we're working a deal with Toronto, who's as tight lipped as we are.
  11. Sveum said Garza's bullpen went extremely well.
  12. Again, why do people keep acting as though 1 more year of for 12.5 M would be such an awful thing? Assuming we have any chance of contending, it would be great to come back with something similar to our current rotation and a big bat or two in the mix. Sure, I'd rather get a shiny new prospect or two, but I'd much prefer Dempster for a year than whatever junk the Dodgers want to give us. The 2013 free agent pitching class once seemed plentiful, but in the end, I wouldnt be surprised if it was highlighted by Marcum, McCarthy, and Peavy, all of whom have notable injury histories. You kind of made your own point there, didn't you? We are NOT contending next year. There's not nearly enough talent available thru FA and our system isn't good enough yet to produce multiple superstars coming our way via trade. therefore, even an arm like Gould(who's a kick in the nuts compared to Delgado, but still) means more to us than someone like Dempster putting up a solidish season next year for us at the major league level, when all it's doing is costing us IFA money and draft positioning.
  13. I don't blame the Dodgers at all here. Pitching isn't there biggest need and they know Dempster wants to be there. This is totally on Dempster. That said, if the Dodgers want a pitcher, they're going to get to the deadline and realize that anyone better than Dempster will gut them of their system and have to decide whether they want a pitcher or another bat is much more important. In the end, they can have both and give us Webster in the process, saving them from paying more for a different guy. My guess is this is what Theo's trying to explain to Ned. As for Goldstein, he's worth following, I guess. But, he's said on many occasions that he answers probably one out of every ten questions he gets. Knowing that, then looking at the fact over half of what he answers is strictly to mock people, he's becoming less followable, by the day and I understand if some baseball fans decided against it.
  14. Sigh Really Ken? That was [expletive] information overload. Try not to send out that much [expletive] at once, man.
  15. I havr confidence our FO is going to do right by the organization, not by him.
  16. Honestly, it might be a good idea to put a sticky out, explaining the qualifier, the draft allotment, the draft picks that are trade eligible, IFA allotments going forward, and IFA money being traded. These things are all going to come up a ton for the next year or so.
  17. One supplemental pick. And that still requires a team to forfeit their own 1st rounder and draft budget that comes with it.
  18. You did it again... :x oh that's what he does man. He's in my head bigtime at this point. I look to make sure he's not in the thread, before I try posting an update. Then I rush it, make typos, and usually give up. It's teh internets version of Steve Sax disease. Here's what you do if you're that worried about it: keep two windows open, one with the post you're composing, one with the thread. Refresh the thread to make sure you won't be sniped the second before you hit the submit button on your post. I post from my phone mainly. That's my main problem. My wife has taken ownership of my Ipad and my laptop has to stay on work-related things.

Yeah, that was awesome. He responded while I was on a 2 minute business call, I'm in the minor league thread and see it before Twitter even notified me I had a response.
  20. Thr thing is though, Soriano's contract doesn't hurt us at all right now. We can't re-spend it on the draft or IFA's and it's not time for us to spend big on FA yet. Nor is there going to be much to spend it on anyway, on that front. Plus, our payroll is lower than it's been in a while AND heading downward. He's giving us solid production. Not worth what we're paying him, but probably close, to be fair. At this point, I want a solid return for him, or else it's not worth it to trade him. Someone taking the contract does nothing, I'd rather pay it and get something good.

  22. Cliff Lee looks to be on the market. If so, I hope the Rangers get him.
  23. Ian Dickson's last 3 starts: 16ip, 8h, 3r, 1er, 4w, and 14k.
