  1. Rename us the Chicago Javys. This, however, we agree on.
  2. At the same age and stage in their development? Patterson was a much better prospect. Patterson had everything Baez has, plus speed and defense. I'm a little fuzzy, but I don't remember CP having Javy's power or hit tool. Plus, the reports on Javy's D are just getting better and better.
  3. Oh sweet Jesus.......Javy told Castillo(batting behind him) "you're not getting to hit" prior to the walk off.
  4. Most exciting prospect since Corey Patterson, and I would hope the comparison reminds us of why patience is key here. I think Baez is a better prospect honestly. I also would have faith that Sveum and the FO would handle things quite a bit differently, if he were in the majors than that regime. That said, my honest hopes have gone from a late season callup in 2014, to potentially starting 2014 in the majors. No chance of a callup this year, even if he mashes AA at some point.
  5. Almora just tweeted his surgery was a success. That was quick.
  6. He also took a walk today.
  7. Javy doing whatever the [expletive] he wants again. [expletive] it, bring him up NOW. Just kidding. (kind of)
  8. Is there anywhere to follow that game? The only one I see on mlb.com is the one I'm going to delete from my dvr without watching it. Not that I'm aware of. But Yellon and Arguello aren't there, yet they're keeping up with it somehow.
  9. According to Yellon, Javy just went 430.
  10. To me, right now, we still need 2 OG's. I guess Carimi could easily wind up as one of them. But if he winds up at RT, that puts Webb as a swing tackle, and leaves us needing both guards, unless we expect Brown to handle one of them. We need 2 starting LB's, depth at CB, DE, and DT right now on defense. Plus, a speedy WR, and a backup QB. Its a lot of holes to fill, with 6-7 mill to spend. Especially since part of that goes to draft picks. I'm really hopeful we get an extension and/or restructure done, because we're not deep at all anywhere. Especially with an aging D. Personally, with price tags dropping, I really hope we get a couple of starters filled thru FA still.
  11. Damn, Willie Colon signed with the Jets for 1 year and 1.2 mill. That would have been a nice pickup. Hopefully we get someone else on that kind of deal.
  12. Almora is having the bone removed(doesn't really serve a purpose), according to Bruce. Asked if he follows Almora on Twitter, Sveums' response: You guys know I don't twit.
  13. I've slotted him at 24 on my personal list. Behind Wells, Blackburn, and Rondon, but ahead of Cabrera, Whitenack, and Loux.
  14. Bowman returned on a one year deal.
  15. Good idea. I'm for yhat as well. Rivero, according to Muskat, isn't quite signed yet, but with very limited info, I figure he'd be in our top 50 as well.
  16. Yeah, lets leave Peralta off. He'd have been much higher than this obviously.
  17. Roach to the Raiders, believed to be 3-4 years at 3-4 mill per.
  18. We're thru 47 after this, have to get to 50 now anyway. I'd go to 60, but I certainly understand if 50 is the cutoff.
  19. Evidently he'll resume baseball activities in 3-4 weeks, in games by late May.
  20. I put it in the minor league forum too. [expletive] [expletive].
  21. He just tweeted. [expletive] [expletive]. Who the [expletive] hit him?
  22. Offensively, whats truly undecided? I figure our bench definitely has Lillibridge, Navarro, and Hairston on it. I think Stewart begins the year on the DL, so that bumps Valbuena up to a starter. Which leaves 2 bench spots between Sappelt, Bogusevic, and McDonald, I guess? No clue if Maysonet is having a good spring or not. If so, I guess he's in contention as well.
  23. True, but I'm happy its still considered mediocre, without those two, at the same time. If Baker is ready mid-April and it moves Villanueva into a swing role, it looks much better as a whole. I think it'll be solid enough to put the pressure on our offense to win some games, even before we're at full strength. I think we may actually be able to tread water in April, to where we don't dig ourselves such a hole, its hopeless to get out of. And if Garza is back early May, if it stays healthy, I honestly think we'll find ourselves in a spot that puts the FO in a serious pickle, whether to buy or sell.
  24. The opening rotation goes Shark, E-Jax, Wood, Feldman, and Villanueva. So the pen has Marmol, Fujikawa, Russell, Camp, and most likely Bowden(no options), Rusin, and Rondon, is my guess.
  25. How'd Brett get on? Sniped by Kyle.
